I have been having issues with viewing the forum from my account. I will view replies using my wifes account but will not be able to respond to this thread as wifes account isnt fully functional.
As a result of the forum issues BF have kindly offered to close my account and re-open another one transferring balance and BF points.
Now my question to you all is as I have been a customer for some while im not sure if this helps when calculating potential future PC.
my overal figs are below, does it benefit me to have a new account or keep my existing one and put up with forum issues? **Note that you might want to develop unresolvable forum issues if you want to start afresh :-)
I realise from the figs below that it looks like I wont ever need to worry about PC as it has taken this amount of time to get £240 net P&L! however I have recovered losses lately and am charging along in positive figs quite quickly mainly through trading activity now so hopefully PC will be an issue at some point.
My gut feel is to not close and re-open accounts. Experts on the new PC please let me know what you think...
current lifetime figs (no laughing please):
Local volume : 110,803 Comm local: 1,301 Gross P&L: 1,541 Net P&L : 240
I'd imagine they'd just link the accounts so those figures would be carried over to any PC calculations - All they'd be doing with the new account is transferring over the comm rate and points so you don't lose out. They won't actually delete your current account as they need that audit trail and history.
I have a couple of accounts that are linked for PC calcs but they don't aggregate my comms points just the pnl :(

Ghetto Jo- have you ever wondered what would happen if you were to arb from one of your accounts to the other? You might get comisison on one side and implied comission on the other...... that would be nice wouldn't it.....

It's not something I do- (I don't really avoid PC I just try to maximise winnings) but I think it could be made to work if you're that way inclined, it's certainly not worse than trying to arb BF internally across related markets and it would be a lot less bother if you're a decent trader. You'd generate buckets of comission implied comission and a lot of points with pretty small trades.
