use a £100 bank for a month and see if you can make, an average of, £5 a day for that month.

It's not possible to make any amount of money, every day.

I started trading football two weeks ago from a £250 bank.

Made "Football: £1,290.60" from that.

Depends entirely on how much you are willing to risk.

I'd agree with Kenilworth. You shouldn't really be looking at a daily amount. You might then end up becoming unnecessarily worked up over the daily figures.

You mention trading on horses. Are you sure trading is the way to go? Not just backing or laying results outright? I'd have a think about it. If you think that your trading strategy is better than other betfair users then fine, but don't forget that there are people trading on here who really do know what they are doing using models based on stock market strategies from their time working as city traders. I'm not saying you can't make money doing it, but maybe your profit will not be as high as it could.

Ask yourself which you think is the easiest thing to achieve over the long term. Beat the traders or beat the backers/layers. There are always posts on here about winning traders etc. Do they all make money? Do all stock market traders make money? I think you know the answer.

Not trying to influence, just something to think about.

dont set daily target, you could win a 50 on the first then what, log off? no keep it up and ull learn more from carrying on, u risk losin some of the profit but worth it
Report cruso November 29, 2009 7:23 PM GMT
it is hard to make a set amount daily.
if you make it early do you stop?
if youre struggling do you take more risks?
better to play it as it goes, and the hope the highs
outweigh the lows.
start with a modest bank and build it up
but betting the same % of your bank.

i average 18.4% return on bets from every football match - so £272 ish.

lose 1 game in 8 though.... so you'd need to up the stakes to cover the losses and keep the £50 a day.

hope this helps

I started this with exactly the same earning target. lost my job and although earn some money from part time work, I am still in the red by about a grand each month due to mortgage etc and massive debts. So far i am £6900 down in 3 months! Had some highs, more lows though! Almost excluded myself last week as down to my last £98, but have pulled it back to over a grand, so will be trying to be more disciplined from now on, however, i am prabably deluding myself.

My only advice is dont bet on overs at the beginning of a match and dont chase. I doubled up 6 times on overs, 5 of which ended 0-0 so never even had the opportunity to trade out.
