General Betting Christmas drinks / dinner
This must be the 4th year I think.... but time again for the annual get together of this forum, so I am actually going to propose a Saturday evening this year, and a specific one rather than the usual attempt to fins a date that suits everyone.
Naturally I will arrange it for ANY night Feck can make it...
But I am proposing Saturday 21st November.
(Maybe some of us will even go racing during the day)
Let me know if interested because depending on numbers, might find a new venue or be boring and go to OXO tower again.
I also think we should arrange somewhere to go after so Bayes, Muqbil and GOM, dont end up in some grunge bar in waterloo (unless you guys liked it)
So I suggest.... for after..
a) Casino
b) Club
c) Bar
So post up if you can make it.

The Investor, I used to try and play blindfold chess with a guy I worked with, many years ago, he was very good I wasn't! Even after one or two pints it is incredibly difficult for my grey matter!

What's the 21st of November got to do with Xmas? You may aswell celebrate Halloween.
At Christmas most people are with their family. Also, if everyone had their Christmas party at the same time, there wouldn't be any space to move.
Club afterwards sounds good, I am happy to go with the flow, whatever that may be.

I'm 73 so I have difficulty getting in to most clubs.

Would love to join you again this year but as I get older (happens to the best of us, unfortunately) I find that the difficulties associated with it such as digestive disorders, flatulence, back ache,tiredness, incontinence, attention deficit disorder, low boredom threshold,low tolerance of others behaviour, propensity to rant, unwillingness to waste time on trivia, jealousy of those who are younger, with more stamina; different values, different sense of humour, lack of energy,need for sleep, etc etc make it an impossible invitation to accept, albeit I did enjoy the occasion last year together with your immense hospitality.
I wish you a great evening....enjoy it while you can!

Hey guys, unfortunately my throat infection took a turn for the worse.
I started taking anti-biotics yesterday, and the doctor says I should be ok in 5 days.

Just got home on the night bus. Thanks for a fantastic evening. Only around 14 people turned up but they were a super crowd.
The Magician was in the chair all evening, what a super bloke, he tried to pretend that he had won the scoop again today so we didnt feel bad about him paying, what a gent. Which was obviously impossible due on the reversion to the mean law.
We then went to a casino after which also didnt seem to understand the reversion law as we all piled on black when red had come up 7 times in a row, but after another red and a black there were several more reds in a row and we all wiped out.
Hence had to get the bus rather than a taxi.
Anyway once again thanks to all for a very nice evening.

Muqbil, it is a shame we didn't get to talk. I wanted to stay over but after ringing 30+ hotels and looking at over 300 on laterooms, all of which either said to be full or were when I rang them, I gave up the ghost. Hopefully see you this summer, or if you ever go racing in the south let me know.
