downgraded from A to C on SBR recently i believe

bet365 changes winning wager to losing wager; costs player $18,000
A player wrote SBR complaining about an in-game tennis bet placed at bet365 (SBR rating C). The player states that on July 2nd he risked $18,000 at 1.14 odds on Andreas Beck in the third set. The player provided a screen shot showing the original wager. When Andreas Beck won the match, the player found his wager was changed to a bet on the losing opponent, Dominick Meffert. The players wager was then graded as an $18,000 loser, instead of a $2,052 winner. bet365 had no comment.
In the last year bet365 has altered player's wagers in live betting, changing spreads they deemed to have been offered erroneously to "correct" market odds after the event. This essentially gave players wagers they did not place and replaced winning bets with losers. bet365 does not list a policy that suggests they may alter in-game wagers. Players should avoid in-game wagering at bet365. bet365 has stated that this action is taken with professional traders who are aware of the market and the line being incorrect.

so if you know what you are doing, then they will act like total crooks towards you, is what that last bit says to me

businesses should be closed down for doing this, no question, it is completely illegal behaviour

Update 8.18.2009: After reviewing additional information about the player's claim, SBR has found that the player has not supplied any credible evidence that bet365 has altered his wager. This dispute has been closed.

Are they saying he had 18k on Meffert at 9/2 ( or whatever it was ) Eldrick ?

dont know the details frames, and 365 have refused to comment by the looks

IF the complainant is not trying it on then it seems that you never want to be playing large in running there

and i have seen plenty of books change bets after they were taken, antepost they seem to get oh so forgetful about place terms and the like

my hunch is he got a whacking great arb on (perhaps their interface froze for a minute and the price on here was 1.03 by the time the bet got through) and they decided to fk him over by changing the bet afterwards

Update 8.13.2009: bet365 has responded to SBR stating that this player's wager was not changed. bet365 has provided evidence on its behalf suggesting the player has doctored the image to support his claim. bet365 has also agreed to revisit confirmed cases of altered in-game betting. SBR will report on the result of bet365 reviewing these bets and will reevaluate bet365's rating at that time.

i would love to know what evidence bet365 supplied to suggest he doctored it

surely you'd take the customer to court for attempted fraud if you could prove he was at it? hell of a lot of money to be trynig to squeeze them for

so i honestly don't know who i believe on that case. but i would absolutely never be trying to have a bookie over in running for that sort of cash, asking for big trouble and i don't personally trust b365 an inch

but if i were a betting man, i would make it 1/2 b365 were at it

I'd be more interested in seeing the customer's evidence. I have never had any problems with 365 myself and have never heard of any bookie changing the participant completely. I have suspected Paddy's of doing this once until I realised it was my mistake and I'd clicked on the the wrong participant box. I'd suggest this is more likely.

i can't tell what really happened here, so me making odds about which party was at it is all total guesswork really

about one month ago I had a similar problem with B365.
It just so happened when I was on a great winning streak with them.
I was up £5800 on them in two weeks from a deposit of £200.
I withdrew £2800 and had £500 on a bet of first goal after 27th minute in a certain game.
The price was Evens.
The bet won and when I viewed my account it had been altered to before 27th minute.
I agured for two days with them but to no avail.

With all bookmaker accounts I now place a bet and go straight into the account section and print a copy of the bet, just to keep on top of the **s.

I advise others to do the same as we never have a leg to stand on in a dispute.

In fact of their A+ list I have accounts at 6 and only one has ever restricted me. I have 5 accounts with uk highstreet bookies and all 5 have restricted me, despite my winnings in the uk being far lower.

i find sbr is quite USA-facing so not really appropriate for my needs but i have had interaction with the guy who fights with bookies on behalf of punters in disputes, and i think they are exceptionally good

i presume the grumbler has extensive experience using panamanian bookies which makes him qualified to judge? or is he just lumping panama together with countries which have been shown to have little or no regulation, like an ignorant person might do?

I love the idea of SBR, but I find the principle of a self proclaimed authority of the entire internet gaming industry somewhat arrogant and open to corruption.

I'm in no way saying this occurs at SBR, but from experience with similar companies/sites, it seems rather prevalent.

Obviously, the service of highlighting rogue sites is an important one, but I do think that it should be administered by a more accountable authority.

How odd people concerned about the financial well being of 365. As I've found them to be the most efficient at closing accounts Im surprised that anyone would have enough money in their account to be bothered about losing it.

SBR have their uses but they also tend to take punters word at face value until proved otherwise - and as the forum often proves, punters tell whoppers sometimes.
