Not sure which game it was yesterday (I saw it on MOTD this morning) but a forward jumped over the goalie when he came flying out. If he’d have stood his ground then fell down it would’ve been a penalty. Possibly cost his team.

Officials' exchange: Ref Michael Oliver: “Red card Phil Foden – kick out into the body of Bruno”. VAR Matt Donohue: “That looks like a clear red card to me. Looks to be a secondary movement. Confirming the red card for Manchester City’s No 47.” Foden had to walk. But… Fernandes incredibly fortunate to escape any punishment for initial provocation, kicking Foden twice. Is it a question of who milks contact most? Which team appeals to ref loudest? And why doesn’t VAR look at initial kick by Fernandes? No excuses for Foden’s kick - straight red - but decision-making inconsistent here. #MUNMCI |
