a month of playing Rapid has affected my blitz skills, players playing 100mph to win on time, taking me time to re-train by blitz brain, will get to 2000 in the end but 1700/1800's are all pretty adept in every aspect of the basics of chess, no free wins.

376 Rapid games, 15 players I played have subsequently been banned, 2 closed for Abuse, not sure what closed for abuse means though.
313 Blitz games, Not 1 single player banned or closed for abuse.
Suppose that makes some sense, people have got plenty of time to cheat in Rapid with so much time, but no time in speed chess like Blitz or bullet.

Yes, a 1250 chess rating is a solid, above-average score. On major platforms like Chess.com or Lichess, a 1250 rating typically puts you well into the upper half or top 20–30% of active, registered players, meaning you can easily beat most casual people who know how to play the game.
That’s what google says.

emitdeb has been playing puzzles for years and years and wonders why he's still 1100.
It's because puzzles are useless, you don't get the same situations in games, they at best teach you basic chess tactics like skewers, discovered attacks, forks, pins etc, but you learn all of that in games or at least should have done a long time ago, it's like he's just really struggling to accept that my level is way above his. Already said I'm happy to help in a non patronising way.
Step 1: click analysis after the game, it's free, go through each move with the arrow keys, look at the eval bar, it tells you the strength of your position, on the right hand side look at what the top move was and work out why it was the top move, it's usually obvious after the event.
The eval bar doesn't just measure material, it takes into consideration board positioning as well.
For example, your material can be completely even with your opponent, but the eval bar may say you're 2pts ahead, which is basically the equivilent of 2 p&wns (1pt = 1 p&wn, 3pts = a knight or a bishop, 5pts = Rook, 8pts = queen).
It's the best possible way to learn so you don't keep making the same mistakes, like moving the same piece back and forth in the first few moves.
Kind Regards.

A) Do I look like a performing seal who claps when asked B) Lacing your original request in juvenile bait such as bolding words like suspicion if I didn't etc. C) You actually think I'd respond to nonsense like that. Who is it you think you're dealing with here exactly, one of you low IQ mates in C0rals doing his nuts on the FOBT machines all day long
If I feel like doing this Puzzle Rush you're so desperate for me to do, it'll be when/if I feel like it, maybe after reaching 2000 Blitz, maybe not.
Kind Regards.

Puzzles are good but you are simply looking for a forcing move that you know must exist.
Real chess there may be a forcing move, and there may not.
How much time will you invest looking for it?

Played a bit at school and uni, then taught family etc.
Bores me to be honest waiting for others to make up their mind, so havnt bothered for years.
I did have a Microsoft chess program free on a computer but that wasn't much of a test on short times, and didn't do blitz at highest level so got bored there too.
I was brought up playing draughts and dominoes, and poker,... Although probably more whist when mam joined in.
Used to enjoy chess puzzles in Telegraph or times and reading about games, far more than sitting down to play chess.

Join Chess.com It costs nothing.. Play a couple of rapid games (10 mins each).. you'll be given a rating..
Just good fun, nothing slow or too fast.
On ratings.. I'm 1100-ish, kenbo's 1200-ish and mesmerised is 2 million-ish or something... kenbo and myself are not too obsessed with ratings.. tbh.

We used to play scrabble in the pub, our local, and rainy days at golf club was darts or Arnold Palmer pro shot golf around the lounge if there were no committee members to spoil our fun.

Have you heard of CCTO? Checks Captures Threats Optimization
Learn to do this very quickly in every position in other words look at every check, analyse it quickly, don't check for the sake of it look at every capture, analyse it quickly, trust your own analysis, don't exchange pieces without thinking look for threats on both sides, analyse to see whether they are real Otherwise optimization - just make a move that doesn't weaken your own position

Lichess is better, but I noticed you can't analyse games anymore unless you have an account, used to be able to do it as a guest.
Lichess ratings are inflated compared to chess.com, a 1900 player is around 1600-1700 on chess.com.
Kind Regards.

I didn't realize that so I asked co-pilot for confirmation and you're absolutely right. In fact you may be being a bit generous depending on which time limit you're talking about. I'm logged into chess.com now - my rating is shown as 1938. Username pe84984

You destroyed me... and to be honest, I was fuming how good you were and how awful I was...
But somehow you blundered a few times.. missed M1... We're now level in score but I'm pretty sure the superior player..

These 1800 blitz players are garbage, keeping me there for ages, I know I'm better than them but they're in 5th gear and I'm in 2nd, eventually I'll concentrate my mind and skip through them.

I’m making too many fat finger errors. If I want to send a rook or queen to the other end of the board I often only move it one it one square, or I will send a piece one square too far or too less.

Just looking back at that first game. I was a massive favourite when I had you trapped in the corner but still can’t work out what I should’ve done.
Mes, when you review the game it used to show me what the best move would have been. Doesn’t seem to show that any more. Do you have to pay for that?

Game Review is free to use but only once per day, more than that I think you have to pay.
Game Review is not really that necessary, going through each move with the analysis function is good enough really.

He has played around 10,000 games over six years and has a peak rating of 1234.
He should be well into advance level by now, which is roughly 1800+
Yet he's miles from it, instead if listening to me telling him how to get better, he just theatrically throws his arms in the air and keeps yelling 'cheat', it's embarrassing.
Everything I know is from YouTube, I've never read or seen a chess book before, never played over the board and never had any kind of coach.
Every time I can across an opening I didn't know how to deal with, I simply went to Youtube and searched for 'trap again so and so opening', so at least you have a plan, and if it doesn't work, then you just play chess.
He seems to play the Italian game as white every game, it's the most common opening, so his opponents are well versed in playing against it.
Play something different, learn the Ponziani for example, in Rapid I won 43 games and lost 9 (excluding 3 banned players), doesn't work as well in Blitz, but then again they started my Blitz rating at 2000, after I reached 2000 Rapid, but for Rapid, it seems to work well.
Just go to Youtube and look it up, it's an easy to remember opening, tricky and trappy.
I learned other openings such as how to play against the Vienna game from chessvibes, how to play against the King's Gambit from RemoteChessacademy, Ponziani and Stafford Gambit from Eric Rosen, Alapic Sicilian from Jonathan Schrantz etc etc.
Instead of complaining about how other people are better than you when really it's because they actually put in the hard work, you need to do the same. But you seem to fat and lazy to bother, you'll probably still be here in 5 years calling me a cheat whilst stuck at 1100 FFS.
Kind Regards.
