proper football doesn't start for a few weeks, no high class tennis til beginning of next month, few days til my holidays, so in the meantime send me a challenge for a few games before I'm offski

Didn't you say that you'd only returned to the forum for the world cup and that when it was over you'd be gone?
FIBS was still going last year but it was mainly bots.
I have a mediocre 1100 rating... But up for giving anyone a rapid 10 minute game...

I will open an account and have a game. I sometimes have a dabble on the five minute blitz games on Lichess. I lose nearly all of them!

Ken you were doing perfectly fine up until the 12th move, no need to sacrifice the bishop there, it was pretty much an even game otherwise.

no it what I was thinking at the time, it lists move numbers as you go along, I like that style of play to sacrifice but only when playing blitz, play for opening tricks and traps usually, wouldn't be any good playing over the board against real people, opponents have too much time to think, gg anyway.
I don’t like the way it lists your moves on the screen. I click the chat box to get rid of that. Once we’d swapped queens it was game over. You had my rook for your bishop and I totally missed a couple of other easy moves.

I'd be guessing mes is a 1200+ player, would make short work of a lowly 1100 me...

I am a member of Gameknot, not very good,, my rating says 1498 over about 100 games, did you see the chessmaster on the beeb, they had 5 top players and they wheeled in Bodhana Sivanandan, an 11 year old girl who took them all on at the same time, she just wandered from one player to the next making her moves....she wiped the floor with the lot of them

Just to confirm, Gameknot is good, I'm not, when you play the computer it is particularly unking to me
Play a few random games kenbo, you'll be paired against 5, 6, and 7 hundred players.. You're much better than that, build up your rating and confidence..

reached 1000, Won 13, drew 1, lot 2 accidentally, I see emitebed peak is 1234, I'll breeze past that later and give him the Queens wave on the way past

I got pretty lucky with that checkmate! Missed the earlier one.
reached 1100, lost 3rd game, won 20, lost 3, drew 1, was completely winning but forgot to check with the rook ffs, again keep mousing slipping, went to castle and moved the king one square instead then had to manually castle, a better player would have taken advantage

I am unblocking you temporarily, I feel so dirty...send a challenge
that was an epic game, it took me forever to calculate whether I was winning the end game or not , 41.8 seconds in fact on move 41, shouldn't have done but was double checking, then I had to remember my end games, I literally almost blundered mate in one if I had taken that bishop on move 23, only realised at the very last second, engine also said I was supposed to sac the rook earlier, good game, back to block though
that's me for today anyway, way too many rapid games.

1235 rapid, think had first brilliant move in the last game, you think you've played well but when you look at what the engine says after, you realised you didn't, it was screaming at me to castle kingsside early on, but I eventually castled, queenside. Kind Regards.
I should have had more than 3 losses by now, players not punishing dubious gambits that I play, only a matter of time, I would imagine it's the 1600/1700s where I'll plateau and from there it'll be more win/loss/win/loss/win/loss sort of territory, or maybe before.
It's why I prefer blitz, you can get away with a lot more as time goes a lot quicker.

You seem to get match against more than a few over rated newbies, not sure how you're managing that..
TBH, IMO... Doubt you'll see 1600/1700.. Time will tell.

Last thing I want is to play against brand new accounts, I can see the irony being one myself, I eventually got to 1400 after a fashion but one of the players I lost to called usefullness huh, told me he was using a training account and he was over 2000 on his main account, he joined 5 mins before we played and definitely played like a 2000, looking over it I never had a chance, reported but of course nothing will happen.
There was this really annoying women who was in completely lost position but then kept offering me draws and I lost, lesson learned, click disable draw offer straight away.
Lost another game in a completely winning end game v lokayouself, nearly 5pts up on the engine, but with the clock ticking didn't have enough to time to calculate properly, ended up in a completely drawn end game, then lost on time.
away next week, may cram in some more games before I go, but pretty sure I'll reach at least 1600.
