Is this the most pointless event in World Sport, an official game where neither team really cares about winning, it may be OK if you're a Croatia playing in it in 98, but for England and France two contenders for the actual World Cup, it's a pointless game. The European Championships scraped it in 1980 "The match was not considered attractive and has not been part of the Euros since then"

Having said that if France field a side resembling their best team then evens looks a good bet.

Kind Regards.

Billy no mates because somebody made a thread, what a big baby Laugh

You were a Jock taking the píss by making an England v France thread before the England v Argentina game had even started, and now you're getting angry because an Englishman made a genuine thread in it's place instead, serves you right you silly mug.

As someone sad yesterday, they had a semi on seeing England lose, and that is the only Semi you Scots will ever experience Laugh

Kind Regards.

Sadly I have to agree with mes

Many Scots, Welsh and Irish people have terrible inferiority issues which manifest themselves as childish euphoria whenever England lose.

Thankfully being English means never having to worry about what other people think.

If I was the England manger I'd be on the phone to the French to agree to field underused players for this Loser's cup.

Well at least most of the pundits who were forecasting England would be playing France this weekend got it right.

Unfortunately they got the day wrong Cry

Not sure i agree with that Norbert. Many 'non-English' are quite fair and want to see the better teams and those that deserve to be in the final to be there. England were a 'hard' watch with very little inventiveness. Think the final could be a cracker.

I think because of how upset BadJosephine is, and because of how much it means to him as a Jock to create an England thread, I would advise you all to migrate over there, I think he's total well being seems to depend on it based on his sharp, vicuous outburst.

Call it care in the community.Grin

Kind Regards.

Would love to see England have a right old go at them.
We shall see I suppose.

Think both sides do care about this result - just in a different way/reason for caring. No side wants to end by losing 2 matches in a row in this competition, but one of them must do...

That said, I'm thinking there will be goals as both sides will play with a bit more freedom in style - can't see either side sitting back defending against their opposing strike forces.

Arteta should let Rice miss the first couple of fixtures V Coventry and Villa to let him rest and recover, season starts in 4 and a half weeks.

France should win easy against that lineup. Mbappe's goals shouldn't count for golden boot but he'll likely secure it tonight.

Back France and lay England big time tonight. It's easy money. Tuchel has made 7 changes and is probably playing his 2nd team. Kane and Bellingham are on the bench - fatigue or possibly a mini mutiny. France is fielding their 1st team with the exception of Dembele who's on the bench.
Load up everyone!

France really have a bit more to play for, to help MBAPPE be top scorer and for the Manager. The problem for England fans, I understand you expected better, however is it possible they just do not mentally have it, or thats as good as they are. Look at France, twice they have recently blown big games. We are looking at a final, rarely have Spain and Argentina turned it on during this tournament, in fact how many teams have really stood out for more than a game. If this was Horse Racing..... most of these teams would have blinkers added.
