Argentina, of course. Or they'd not be bothered watching. Munching fried Mars bars might be their preferred alternative.

fancy the Argie government thinking they could beat the British army, they can be blamed themselves for sending their own citizens to the their deaths, it was their choice.

That was not good, they sent an unprepared army and kids. Heard reports by some when they engaged the Argy army they could not fire as they were kids that could barely hold the gun up.

Obviously thought, it's 3,000 miles(?) away, they'll not bother with it
Didn't reckon on Maggie backed by the British public
No doubt Starmer/Burnham might have done a deal instead

Read a couple of articles today both asking the question, seemingly dumbfounded at the Scots "sudden" support for Argentina.
Let me enlighten you.

a) There's nothing sudden about it.
b) It has nothing to do with the falklands

It all originated from one magical afternoon in the Azteca back in 1986. That was the day that most of Scotland swapped their favourite other national team (Brazil) for Argentina. All because of Diego, and TWO of the greatest goals of all time (for different reasons). And the reason the love for Argentina has persisted for so long is because of the English media's reaction to that game and constant reminding of one of the goals, while trying to tipex out the other goal from history. Who reported my opening post that's now been removed?

All it said was "today's stupid question, but thought I'd ask anyway"

What is offensive about that ?
