all the usual ex player pod buying in to the argies are pent cant lift a leg etc,they got in front against the swiss and like we,d do tried to manage the game but mesi aside who,s football brain makes up for it, why would fernandez,de paul,alverez,romero,martinez etc be any less fit than the same player they face every week during a lg season,if our supposed extra fitness,speed, strength hasnt shown for long periods if at all against aging croatia,ghana,congo,mexico,norway ,why would it uddenly how tomorrow in our toughet test, seems more like simplified wishful thinking baed on a few glances of argie games to me

My reading of the match, Argentina play and work like a unit on the pitch and although they don’t have as many superstar’s in their team, they more than make up for this with their team spirit, think England have the power to overcome Argentina and win the match,
Whoever’s star shines the brightest will decide the match will it be Messi/alvarez or Kane/ Bellingham |

From what I've seen of Argentina, they're not averse to a bit of cheating and fooling the referee. They've looked very ordinary at times.England should have enough to see them off.

They are now 2.9, why do you think we should be shorter than 2.74, I would have Argentina in at 2.74, England at 9/4 and the Draw at 2/1. Argentina have the better defenders and the way we have defended in the tournament, the higher the quality players that we are now playing against. I wouldn't be surprised if either side reaches the Final, but I would just favour Argentina, but obviously hoping that we win and reach the World Cup Final and go on to win it

Irish media, as predictable as always. Messi will thwart an England win. At the weekend, it was Haaland, before that Mexico and the fortress that was the Azteca.
They'll probably get it right at one point. Hopefully England's first game after being crowned WC champions. Going into the semis, anyone of the four could win this. Now it's anyone of three. |

Argentina are playing with 10 men defensively and it shows. To play the veteran genius they have to carry him for 90% of the match, and if we can get the England of the second half against Croatia that overran the Croatian veterans they could dominate. I see England as the more likely winners in normal time and extra time, but if it went to pens I'd favour Argentina. Martinez's record in them is exceptional.

Look at the lengths Fifa has gone to to get Arg here - does anyone seriously think they don't now crave a Messi v Yamal final bad enough to sort it? Look for Eng getting a few early calls (maybe even a big one) and then watch it all change from about 15 mins in. The only hope is that they make it so bleeding obvious that even every arg notices!

Argentina have benefitted from so many decisions not given against them as explained by all the Egyptian and Swiss players along with the manager. Happened at the last World Cup as well when Messi should have seen red, but of course you can't send Messi off, no ref would work again for FIFA.

Again I will be disappointed if England don't win. They haven't been impressive, but when are they? In fact who has been impressive? Yes, Spain went through last night, but courtesy of dreadful French defending, in fact a dreadful French performance. The fact that Argentina have successfully relied on a near 40 year old suggests the overall standard isn't that good. Hopefully, Bellingham turns up again. I would expect a match winner in their early 20's to be much more effective than someone pushing 40. If that isn't the case then they deserve to exit.

Can anyone tell me why this is, please?
Was in baldy shop earlier and a (usually) non punting mate came in, saw me and asked me to help him put a bet on the match tonight. OK, his young daughter had told him England were going to win 6-3 (!) so he wanted to put a fiver on it. It didn't go that high on the coupon, so I wrote it on a slip for him. Behind the counter they told him that 5-2 was the highest score he could bet on!? So he put his fiver on that instead @ 80/1...yeah I know! I looked on bet356 for him and told him 5-2 was 250/1 on there, but also that was the higgest score they would allow as well Why can't you bet 6-3, or basically England no more than 5 goals on a correct score? Surely a goldmine for bookies on matches like this, as they would be offering way under the true odds...? |
