Not sure if the England have any experience with hypoxic/altitude training. Was it any part of their WC preparation?

No, England did not use hypoxic training for the 2026 World Cup. Instead, the team relied on specialists from Team GB and global experts to help players adapt to the tournament's high humidity and heat.

Key preparation methods included:

Thermal Monitoring: Players took capsules during a warm-weather training camp in Florida to measure internal body temperature and cooling rates.
Acclimatization: The squad spent time in the humidity of Florida and played warm-up matches in hot conditions to get used to the environment.
Hydration Strategy: The team treated hydration breaks, introduced due to the heat, as a practice opportunity to manage fluid intake.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel explicitly stated that they had planned for the conditions using these adaptive solutions rather than hypoxic methods.

Raul Jimenez is used to playing at 10 feet above sea level so we won't have to worry about himSilly

Yes, low-tech but just as effective as the fancy hypoxic training.

Yeah, you can see it now, Tuchel, "Right guys it's time for altitude training, who needs a sh*t, right, all the rest of you get in the bogs and see how long you can hold your breath for"Grin

"After that we'll break for lunch"Laugh

Not sure. Maybe they'll be around 1.70 to qualify for the quarter-finals. That'll be a very tough game for England though.

Good shout....currently 1.76 Cool, put my 1.75 in 90 minutes to shame, currently 2.44 Crazy

Ha yes, pretty close. Probably would've been a bit lower to qualify if they hadn't put in such a rancid performance against Congo earlier.
