Sweden have stuck to their task, defended well and posed a threat on the break. France will need another to make sure. Can't count Sweden out yet.

Why do reporters/commentators describe every decent bit of sporting action as "for the ages" these days ?

the one that annoys me is "They need to put the ball into an area" or "He's been putting it into areas". Wherever the ball goes on the pitch, it will be in "an area". Meaningless drivel. 
I don't think their lucky, much the better side, although Sweden have done ok. I have only seen 2 really good sides in this tournament. 1 is France and the other is Argentina, there are some other good sides. I can't see how England can go even close and I'm unsure that they will even win tomorrow, but you never know.

He was closer than I thought then! Would have been incredible era spanning to have played in the World Cups of 1970 & 1990.

Lack of cards is remarkable,maybe after the 3 reds in the opening game someone had a word .In the Norway game there was a melee near the end with an attempted head butt and all sorts ,no cards .Here if this was a Scottish premier league game we'd have had 2 reds and about 7 yellows so far.

It's been hard shift for Sweden, but they deserve credit for their application and effort.
No cards , actually refreshing to see ,so many games are ruined by refs giving red cards unnecessarily, especially if you're punting on the team that gets them.
Yes, Sweden gave it a real go but France looks like real contenders. Not sure if they meet Argentina in the final again..

Gordon West should have been Gordon Banks's replacement for that 1970 match v West Germany, he had been in fine form in Everton's march to the league title that year but withdrew himself from selection basically due to not wanting to be away from home and his family
