Sweden have a chance in this game, French defence is as poor as what England's is
Sweden got good front 3
So chances, but likely France bang in a few more.
Get doue on for barcola.

Sweden have stuck to their task, defended well and posed a threat on the break. France will need another to make sure. Can't count Sweden out yet.
France look on another level to anyone else.
Why do reporters/commentators describe every decent bit of sporting action as "for the ages" these days ?
Do they think it makes them sound intellectual or something ? Gets on my wick

the one that annoys me is "They need to put the ball into an area" or "He's been putting it into areas". Wherever the ball goes on the pitch, it will be in "an area". Meaningless drivel.
I don't think their lucky, much the better side, although Sweden have done ok. I have only seen 2 really good sides in this tournament. 1 is France and the other is Argentina, there are some other good sides. I can't see how England can go even close and I'm unsure that they will even win tomorrow, but you never know.
"Look what it means to him/her/them"

France very arrogant. Reminds me of England v W.Germany Mexico 1970. And that arrogance didnt end well for England...
France have Sweden scared of them, rightly so, no doubt, but they have done pretty well.
Enjoyable game, ref could have booked saliba, rabiot for repeat fouling, might
have made them think about it.
France bench looks stronger than swedens so
likely get more and more on top as players tire.

They are still running ads with Scottish players
Reminds me of Euro 2016, England were long gone but there were Joe Hart shampoo ads every HT

going to end up with another Broken leg at some stage players going full in with studs , no card be shown is shocking

You're a lot older than I though you were, Storm Alert.
I don't mind a bit of arrogance when they can back it up. And Mbappe certainly can.
Arrogance was taking off Bobby Charlton, to rest him for semi.
No Peter Bonetti in goal for France though SA .
Maignan's nickname is not LE Chat is it ?

France far superior to this current Sweden side will get 3 or 4
Peter Shilton must have been close to making the 1970 squad?
Isak-Gykores not exactly up for a press
Doesn't help
Doesn't help
topped up on France last night at 3.9. Should be able to lay off before they meet Morocco, although I think they will beat them.
Shilton was in provisional 28 man squad for 1970,pretty sure he was in a few footy sets, printed
early.
early.
fairly simple goal, didn't have to do anything too elaborate. Sweden defenders too far apart.

He was closer than I thought then! Would have been incredible era spanning to have played in the World Cups of 1970 & 1990.
The ref has left his cards in the boot of his car, no where to be seen, only explanation
Sweden have played quite well, imo. They've done about as well as could be expected against this French side.
Of course England didn't qualify 74,78.
So Shilton debut was 1982, and still has 10 clean sheets.

Lack of cards is remarkable, maybe after the 3 reds in the opening game someone had a word .In the Norway game there was a melee near the end with an attempted head butt and all sorts ,no cards .Here if this was a Scottish premier league game we'd have had 2 reds and about 7 yellows so far.
has there been any game so far with no cards? I haven't seen one
Shilton's in my set of esso coins for 1970
A few peter shilton world cup 1970 cards on ebay , looks like a typical 1970s footballer .
Shilton's caps record looks to be broken soon by Kane
You get the impression Johnathan Tah knew exactly what he was doing when he blasted that penalty into row Z last night !
Both Mbappe and Messi could join Cafu in becoming the only players ever to have played in 3 World Cup finals.
Cafu and Mbappe would be 3 in a row.
Cafu and Mbappe would be 3 in a row.
Sweden players asking the ref to blow the final whistle now
Germany would've been pulled apart by this French side. Paraguay will provide a sterner test.
Only one of the 11 starters for Morocco actually born there
It's been hard shift for Sweden, but they deserve credit for their application and effort.
No cards , actually refreshing to see ,so many games are ruined by refs giving red cards unnecessarily, especially if you're punting on the team that gets them.
Yes, Sweden gave it a real go but France looks like real contenders. Not sure if they meet Argentina in the final again..
How would Mbappe fare on a cold, wet, windy Monday night in Stoke ?
He would hate it like anybody else. And Tuesday night might be even worse.
Everyone in Stoke is related to each other, that might confuse him as well
He would get better marked at stoke.
Sweden happy to watch France play well,
Sterner tests await... Stand off and they are brilliant.

Gordon West should have been Gordon Banks's replacement for that 1970 match v West Germany, he had been in fine form in Everton's march to the league title that year but withdrew himself from selection basically due to not wanting to be away from home and his family
