Has there ever been a rule/new introduction into football more universally disliked than this one, it's literally being roundly booed by all sets of supporters at every game, the Americans must be baffled as they're used to quarterly breaks, but the rest of the world not used to the Americanisation of sports, is not having it.

Doubt they'd even try and introduce it into the Premier League as it'd be hard to justify throughout the winter months, bearing in mind the point of these hydration breaks was to combat the searing heat and humidity, though they boxed themselves into a corner by insisting all teams in all games must have them just for consistency, even if it's raining and it's 20 degrees.

Having said that, there's now an astonishing Eleven American owners of Premier League clubs, isn't it the case that you need 14 clubs to agree to rules changes before they're implemented, not far off that now, then they really will try and push to have games abroad, which even though the Premier League doesn't really need to do it in the same way La Liga or Serie A does because they're lightyears behind the popularity and reach of our league, they'd still do it anyway, as that's Americans for you, capitalists to the core, they'd sell their souls to the devil and their grannies down the river, sacrifice tradition and history and turn tone deaf when it suits them ignoring fans opinions and wishes, all for the sake of the dollar, or in our parlance, the pound note.

Kind Regards.

cricket for the end of an over
