might not even have been that morocco were thinking about who they might play next, might just have been a lot of punters trying to be a bit to clever. who knows. it does make some sense though

said it earlier ill say it again. the haiti game was the chance to almost guarantee qualification. but not taken. conservative dross after taking the lead which made very little sense with strong momentum from the positive attacking friendlies ahead of the tournament

They need a few results to go their way but 3Pts can still
see them go through.

Brazil not that great, but they will probably beat Japan. And, although I don't rate Holland that much, I think they will beat Morocco.

Would be embarrassing to qualify just for a Haiti own goal

there will be a match like that belfast and probably more than one with this h2h nonsense determining final placings

group a: good chance,
b: already not happening,
d: could happen, AUS needs to beat Para by two
e: good chance
f: small chance, SWE needs to lose by 4 again
g: decent chance, Egypt needs to beat Iran
h: decent chance, Spain needs to beat Uruguay
i: unlikely, but a draw between Senegal and Iraq will do it.
j: small chance, Austria needs to beat Algeria by two
k: decent chance, needs Congo to not beat Uzbeks
l: very unlikely, Croatia needs to lose by 3 to Ghana.

Scotland needs four of these to happen assuming this stays 3-0.

nice to win, but won't change anything in terms of group positioning.

so based on that they probably will make it. this team should do better though. needs a more progressive coach

it's the same principle as recent Euros, just more groups to track. However you need to be one of those to figure out which group winners play which third placed team. Think I read there are 493 different scenarios.

Thiago hasn't seen the pitch since being subbed in the first match after an hour, maybe they felt embarrassed having a Brentford striker up front

talk of progress for scotland is a total misnomer. they arent much better than most of the last 28 years since the last wc qualification. all thats changed is its now been swung so that its harder not to qualify than qualify for the wc

In fairness to Scotland, they've been lumbered into a  group with the 1st or 2nd best team in Africa along with the 1st or 2nd best team in South America, then you look at how lucky some of these other 3rd seeds have been with the groups they're in, in comparison.

They're biggest mistake as mentioned earlier was not pummeling Haiti, but then they're not good enough to do that really.

Not only been a bit negative they've gifted goals.
By:
tobiasr
When: 25 Jun 26 00:58
they could and should have done better against haiti. got an early enough goal and could have kicked on, had all the momentum in the match plus what was built up in the previous friendlies where they were far more expansive. as usual though went back into their shell in tournament play
