watched Brazil against Egypt, wasn't particularly impressed, Morocco are a better side than Egypt. only a friendly, but still this Brazil side are nothing special.
By:
Morocco are going for the jugular early, could be case of a boxer punching himself out early then needing to take a round off or two to recover.

Brazil all over the shop

I wonder if this is the first time since '66 that England have been ahead in the betting of Brazil, Argentina and Germany.
By:
Morocco playing well, but I still don't think they'll win.
By:
2018 probably was the time, Germany out in the groups, Argies out in the 2nd round, Brazil out in the quarters, England into the semis.

By:
No, Des Pond. In 2002, I remember they were pre-tourney 5/1FAVS!
By:
Brazil finished level with Paraguay in the group, with much better players
By:
Just as Brazil were warming up up
By:
ah, OK thanks.
By:
England haven't beat a top heavyweight nation in the knockout stages of a World Cup since 1966 so I'd be amazed if pre-tournament we were ever faves over those 3.
Just read a link from 2002, that said England only became 2nd faves for the tournament after they reached the quarters beating Denmark, they couldn't have been faves beforehand, they were ranked 12th in the world at time as well |
By:
If Brazil were playing like Morocco have, they’d be going nuts about it, samba bear etc
By:
What a World Class goal he created on his own
By:
Wake up

By:

If anyone is wondering when the first 0-0 of the tournament will come, look no further than Ivory Coast v Ecuador, Ivory coast qualified without conceding a single goal, Ecuador qualified conceding just 5 goals in 18 matches, scoring less than a goal a game. Ivory coast did score 25 but mostly against micky mouse nations.

mesmerised, I'm recalling my own eyes. You can doubt me all you want, but I'll never forget it because I couldn't stop laughing!
Remember, despite records and stats, England have always been grossly overhyped, never more so during that "Golden Generation" period. Which accounts for them being continuously overbet. |

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2002/may/25/worldcupfootball2002.sport8
this link says France were faves at 3/1, which makes sense considering they had just won the World Cup, Euros and Confederations cup, as well as being ranked 1st, Argie's were also 5/1 If you saw England as faves, must have been some kind of boosted odds specials surely. |
By:
FIFA says this: World Cup 2002, heading into the comp.
Based on average prices from the bookmakers. Argentina (7/2) France (4/1) Italy (6/1) Brazil (7/1) Germany (8/1) England (9/1) Spain (10/1) Portugal (12/1) |
By:
good effort, keeper was alert.
By:
No specials. Can't remember across the board but Hills certainly had a show of 5/1 at one stage, with ALL the rest trailing.
By:
That's a red
By:
what's he chuntering to the ref about? Vinicious gets away with too much of that.
By:
There is the possibility that with patriotic money flowing in at the time, that England could have been faves with one of the English bookmakers at one point in time or another, patriotic money always distorts reality

Looking fatiqued Brazil, not sure why. ?
