Glad he is better, as already said, time to retire of his family, himself and the players playing, it must be awful when this happens. Fantastic career, hope he calls it a day.

should be forced to. if hed snuffed it that would have traumatised every player and spectator and at the same time nobody could say it was unexpected

if hes got children what hes doing is unbelievable. sick of reading after someones died in completely preventable circumstances about what great dads they were. surely part of being a great dad is to stay alive if you can possibly help it

Eriksen later said on Danish television that Sabrina had given him permission to return to football after the cardiac arrest. "If Sabrina had said, I don't want you to play any more, this would be a very different situation," he said.

The wives/families of players are a different breed. Seen it up close with a Championship player, will be much worse at the highest level. He didn't sign for Wolfsburg for fun, he was probably told "right, what's next?!"

his heart trouble could happen ANYWHERE, exercising, or not, sudden cardiac arrests for example - 95% of the time happen when you're not doing anything strenuous.

the SAFEST place possible to have sudden heart related issues such as Eriksen's - is on a football pitch!

being on a football pitch twice when this happened, especially the first time, is what saved his life, with instant medical attention from top professionals, and dozens of people around to stop him from swallowing his tongue.

it would be more unsafe for him to retire!

It wouldn't surprise me if he wanted to prove to himself he was ok after last time and psychologically continuing to play was his way of dealing with it. No doubt the cardioverter-defibrillator saved him from receiving yet more life-saving CPR after his heart stopped for 5+ mims last time, which must be risky even with a medical team pitch side. I suspect he will be forced to retire now; no doubt different countries have different rules.

I think it has been suggested that he could be better off now that it's happened again. The doctors couldn't tell exactly what happened the first time but his pacemaker device will have recorded what happened and they'll have a better idea what's wrong with him now.
It also acts as a built-in defibrillator and shocked his heart back into functioning, hence his being able to walk off the pitch this time.

Under the age of 35 , TWELVE people a week die from a sudden cardiac arrest . Thats alot .

I personally think it would be a bit selfish if he carried on, as said elsewhere, what if collapses in his next game as well?, is that game going to be abandoned too?, what about the other players, the paying fans and the venue operators When things like this happen, it has a big Knock on effect.
