Not the most revelatory to be honest.

The question really needs to be asked why all these allegations are being made now ?

The assault allegations apart, the rest of it was pretty lame imo

Interesting that Tony Livesey was brought in to it near the end, given that he is still on BBC Radio Five Live. Will he still have a job there going forward ?

Agree Dixie. Seems odd for it to suddenly come up.... if it is historical. Some of the people in the Po@n industry were Gangsters, I wonder if anything else has cropped up.

I could understand the reluctance of Savile and Harris's victims to come forward back in the day, but Sullivan plied his trade in completely different circles.

There is no obvious reason why these women could not have come forward earlier, there must be something that has triggered it and not just the fact that he's getting on in years now. I was expecting some bombshell revelations but apart from the alleged assault there was nothing revealed that was out of the ordinary, back in the 70s and 80s his kind of behaviour was pretty much accepted , unlike today.

maybe thats what it is dixie. times have changed so they feel able to say what happened to them now, whereas back in the day sullivan was a self confessed pest and proud of it.

I hope this story is nothing to do with him forcing himself on darts players. TBH I really thought women were not his thing.

That was the best Panorama could come up with?

Having lived through those days i am sure most of us realise that Sullivan's behaviour would have been accepted as the norm for the industry he was in.

Times have changed in the way we now view things, but those girls that Sullivan was involved with should surely have realised what was "expected" of them.

Today they would likely be performing online from the comfort of their own homes, but in those days it was the likes of Sullivan who held the key to their enhanced bank balances. It has always been pretty much the same since time began.

The guy who owns the Circus Tavern (and other establishments) together with his business partners own a chunk of land in the village i live in, including a well known Blue Lake with leisure facilities, they renovated a row of houses near to the lake one of which we bought off them. He and his associates are proper sharks, buying up land at suspiciously low prices and making a mint. Panorama should do an expose on them !

I thought the documentary was weak, at best. Possibly a hint of truth in it, but unlikely to go much further. Probably right to quit though; the terraces would make a meal of this.

Same here. The women featured seemed very naive to me. Powerful men abusing there power and women dealing with it has been around forever. Women have a voice nowadays to speak out about this behaviour, but I'm not sure if this will go much further unless it creates further allegations.

Tony Livesey seemed to be accused of arranging a meeting and I do hope nothing more comes to light as his R5 shows centred around music are an excellent listen.

I remember watching a boxing bout on tv, sitting ringside was David Sullivan with an absolutely gorgeous K Brady (early twenties)... I'm wondering.. was she one of his "special friends" MischiefGrin

I'm very surprised anyone would doubt these cringey and embarrassing accusations but they're hardly arrestable offences. I was expecting more than an expose of Sullivan being lecherous perv.. (everyone knows that already)

The women featured seemed very naive to me. These young girls are everywhere, It's not a green light to abuse them though..

The Documentary was very tame, almost a showcase of the perverts talents..

There'll be more than a hint of truth. Do people realise how many lawyers stories like this pass through before going to publication? This will have been checked from multiple angles. Still might not be true, but the Beeb will be in a position where they would stand up in court with it.

Problem with this one is Sullivan and no real jaw-dropping revelation. It's all just a bit "sleazy guy was actually really, really sleazy". Yeah, we know.

original opening post removed, all it said was Brady left a month ago, when revelations started to appear, don't know why they would be deleted.

The Football Association opened a safeguarding investigation in 2023 after receiving allegations about the conduct of Sullivan, the co-owner and then the co-chair, of West Ham United. In response, a safeguarding group made up of the club, the FA and the local authority decided to prevent Sullivan from having access to his own club's youth and women's teams, the BBC has learned. The restrictions were not made public and Sullivan remained a prominent figure in the club, regularly appearing in the director's box for the men's team games at the London Stadium.

Despite this, it took all this time for The Independent Football Regulator to decide to contact West Ham over "extremely serious allegations" raised about the club's co-owner David Sullivan and seek "urgent information" from him about his suitability for the role. AND surely Karen Brady must have known about this and chose not to resign?

Karen Brady's relationship with David Sullivan goes back almost four decades when Brady, a 20-year-old ad account executive with LBC,

had Sullivan's Daily and Sunday Sport as a client.

Sullivan, 30 years her senior, was so taken by Brady's, er, business acumen, he hired her. Three years later he bought Birmingham City and made her managing director.

Not really sure why I found this amusing.. Happy

Looks like Livesey is getting booted by 5 live which is a shame, as you say his mix tape show is excellent( especially when paul Macnamee is on)
