I'm guessing John Stones, Foden or Palmer, maybe both, Bowen? Trent ?
Burn, Wharton, Spence, Solanke maybe the others along with injured Ben White. Ivan Toney has no chance. Personally would like to see Burn go though, would be great last 10 minutes looking for a big man up top from a corner if needed. Same with Maguire.
Gibbs-White I hope makes it, deserves a call up along with Calvert-Lewin.
Heard Levi Colwill will be called up.
Ramsdale lost his place back to Pope for Newcastle, guessing Pope will get the 3rd goalkeeper spot behind Pickford and Henderson.
Wharton will be included, imo. Colwill was an impetuous card magnet when he was younger, but he seems to have improved and played well since coming back from injury. He has a decent chance. Gibbs-Wite deserves a shot, Burn no thanks, Calvert-Llewin probably not, imo. Spence & Solnake maybe not.

So if there's no Foden or Palmer, that means Rogers and Gibbs-White are in?
Looks like he's really picking players in form with match fitness.
Pep has basically cost Foden a World Cup place.

Pleased for Dan Burn if that's true, remember him saying when at Brighton, he was in the car with his dad when the Saudi's took over, and he said to his dad "they're not going to sign a Dan Burn now are they?" scored in the their league cup final at Wembley, hadn't even made his England debut either til the age of 32.

Looks like Gibbs-White is not in according to some journos.
Some other mugs on twitter saying Anderson is not in, they must want people to unfollow them because that cannot be true surely.

Somewhat shocked Palmer is out..the other's a lot less so..
Maguire has no right to be 'shocked' - he was told he was 5th choice CB a while ago..
Foden has been on the periphery for Citeh and has rarely shone for England despite his obvious talent..
Palmer has had a difficult season managing an injury so might benefit from not going but still surprised..
hoping Watkins gets in as I think he deserves it and gives a very different option through the middle and especially an option if goes go to ET and get stretched.

I'd have picked Toney myself. Was debating in the pub that he should go but didn't expect him to go. You very likely don't win the WC without winning a penalty shoot out at some point.
If Lewis Hall is out that really surprises me. Not shocked by Palmer or Foden

Surely Livramento is in as a RB if he's fit enough. RBs are all injured or coming off injuries aren't they? MLS can't defend and Lewis Hall gives you natural width and balance as a left footer. I thought Hall had been playing well too?

I'd certainly have taken Lewis Hall but Liv'has played LB as well as RB..(right footed)
I misread your original post btw..so I guess O'Reilly as 1st choice ? maybe Lewis-Skelly or Burn also in the equation, even Konsa can play there (right footed)

Good question - though on the thread currently (Newcastle) is that his form has dipped a bit..I've not seen full 90's of Newcastle for a good few weeks so no idea on his true recent form..

Widely reported Trent hasn't made it, which makes sense as we need a defender who can defend.
There's Livramento who can play right back, and first choice Reece James, though Livramento will play left back looking at the projected squad list, can't see any other left back as back up apart from O'Reilly but he's been playing further forward for City for ages, which is why Hall apparently not making it is very strange. Burn has played left back a few times this season, but you don't really want a bean pole playing that position.
Trafford expected to be the 3rd keeper behind Pickford and Henderson.
Quansah is apparently in along with Stones, one player who finished 6th in the tin pot league in Germany, and the other barely fit, I wonder if that is true, but every respected journo is going with Stones.
Maguire a big surprise really, would have taken him over Burn or Quansah as centre back option.

O'Reilly has played as a nominal LB for Citeh most of the time (false LB if you will) - especially at group stage there may be a view to use him like that..
James, Guehi. Konsa, O'Reiily is not a bad back four by any stretch...if he went that way..

I just read up to see Clydebank had probably just read the same BBC predicted squad list I had just looked at.
Does anyone really want Trent in the side, he works under a Klopp system, but that's not Tuchel. Southgate was even right, he's a liability at the back and he's not going to play as some kind of wing back or out and out winger, Sake will be playing down the right hand side of attack. So really he'd be a waste of a place, though not confirmed if he is actually being left out yet.

I'd be surprised if he's in - not least on his RM season which makes him quite an easy omission..but he remains one of England's most gifted footballers imo..quite where you would play him against any decent side I'm not sure..

Foden not being selected is completely down to Pep, he's cost him his place at the World Cup, he was in the side for a while earlier in the season, then Pep does what he does, inexplicably drops him.
Just to go off on a slight tangent, same with Cherki, everyone heaping praise on him recently, likening him to Hazard, and how Pep has allowed him freedom to roam, then he just randomly starts benching him.
Reijnders was voted best midfield player in Italy before he joined City, signs him but can't get a kick.
I think this is the first time Pep has gone 2 years in a row with a league title, probably past his best.

There has been some comment that Maguire is not a good team player off the pitch and his reaction suggests that he thinks of himself before the team. I watch football but I am not a fanatic. There are a couple of names there that I barely recognise. The most miserable looking person in the squad is surely Tuchel. He always looks to me like he is really ill. He would not be in my list of the best 40 managers around.

He’s picked some odd ones Sage and players who haven’t even played a part in the warm ups.
Saka has had a bad season looks knackered, Stines hasn’t even been playing, Wellbeck has had a better season than Watkins, it’s shocking.

I'd have picked the same bar Hall and Maguire myself for Spence and Quansah. Guess Quansah has vastly improved since the Liverpool and under 21 version at Leverkusen

Maguire and his family should have said nothing, if there's an injury and there always seems to be, he could have been first replacement, but Tuchel looked irked when he was told about the statements and comments from his family so that's his chance completely gone.
Don't understand how Stones is going though, no match fitness, no form, not the player he used to be.
Lewis Hall people are raging about, done nothing for months. But then neither has Stones.

English managers pick individuals ,German managers pick teams ,8 world cup finals with a 50% success rate is far preferable to the 100% success rate England have in finals. England's price is the best back to lay bet of the world cup.

German managers have a much smaller pool of international quality players. Nagelsmann would give his wife's left t1t for the players Tuchel is leaving at home.

That's a great point Jack. Southgate, Hodgson and Mcclaren would 1005 have picked an out of form Palmer and Foden.
Rooney himself admitted that he told Southgate not to pick because he was out of form, saying players got there on name only.

Sometimes they get picked so you don't upset them, for next tournament, when they are in form, and don't retire.
Maybe Tuchel doesn't care about next tournament, just this one, but maybe that's right thing,...
60 years of pain, jules rimet still gleaming

Trent as a finisher on the right, when we need a difference, is a no brainer, as fullbacks are struggling to do 90 mins these days.
But, yeah, decent squad

I don't see any problem with anyone left out, maybe bar Maguire, fit, in form, confidence, whereas John Stones, deemed not good enough for City that's way past it's best, and has no form or fitness.
But that's about it.
Foden and Palmer have been either non existent or awful.
Gibbs-White maybe harsh but really if you have Bellingham and Rogers in that position, you don't need Gibbs-White.
Bowen maybe hard done by, but he hasn't been at his best, playing in a poor West Ham team tbf, but he's really missed out to Madueke, which felt 50/50.
I think Eddie Howe has cost both Ramsdale and Pope a real chance, by chopping and changing, and generally having a poor season by their recent standards.

Toney won the Asian Champions League, gotta count for something Burn doesn't fil you with confidence, but he wont be starting games will he, he's a last 10 minutes guy to offer something up top from a set piece. Good character and leader to help keep younger players in check imo, same with Henderson. Spence is lucky really. Haven't seen much of Quansah. Think Gordon is really back up Rashford, who else would be back up left side of attack? Stones shouldn't be there imo.

It really just shows it is a foreign premier league now , only just over 50 english qualified players started half the games . thats why you have players that dont start or play in a pub league being picked

To those saying it looks a decent squad, of course it looks a decent squad, it's England, there's a huge pool of quality to choose from, the question is whether it could look better and the answer is an emphatic YES.

It looks like he's tried to crow bar in as many crocks as possible, it looks a shocker to me.
United should have held of on the Carrick appointment, this guy might be available after all.

Have to agree Nobby. Obviously i am biased but Garner has been Everton's most consistent performer over the past two seasons, has a real eye for a pass and can also cover at full back if required (he played there throughout the U21's victorious Euros campaign last year). To see the likes of Henderson getting picked instead must be very dispiriting.
I think Cole Palmer is very unlucky as well despite what others have said about his fitness and lack of form. He has still managed to score 9 prem goals despite missing a third of the season which is obviously down on his usual stats but still fair for a midfielder/winger. DCL and Watkins are both out and out strikers and each have 14 goals having played more games than Palmer. So i think he can feel aggrieved at not getting in.
The defence really worries me, the likes of Spence and Quansah are presumably only back ups but the fact they are in the squad shows the lack of quality available.
Having said that, England have a real opportunity to win it this time as there are no real stand out teams. The bookies have left them unchanged at a general 6/1 third favs which is a bit miserly but probably about right.

I saw Jamie Redcrap go to Liverpool with Solizie the other night. Whilst in the café there he saw two international players going to the Workd Cup.
He asked them who they feared in the tournament, neither said England!
McAllister laughed as Redcrap when he said you don’t give us a squeek?!
Can you imagine if he was asking now that the squad has been released?
Maybe Jamie wouldn’t have bothered asking now!
