It will be an absolute travesty if Arsenal win any silverware this year.
Arteta is the Anti-Football. |

Well people are paying to go watch games that are worse than going down to watch your local team they playing for themselves so what s the point in going to pay and watch most of the games not even football subbuteo games

Arsenal done by two wrong VAR decisions tonight. The 2nd Arsenal pen was not a clear and obvious error by the ref, Eza got the ball first and defender stood on his foot. Never understood the argument about minimal contact. If there’s contact then it’s a foul and if it’s a foul then it’s a penalty. VAR should not have got involved in that situation. Once the ref was sent to the screen it was obvious he would buckle with Simeone's antics nearby.

Who was in var tonight ? what countries are they from ?

0-0 from open play - knew it

After Tuesday's game last night was shocking. How Arsenal fans can watch that cr4p week after week is beyond me.

Reasonable result for Arsenal, good match to watch, plenty of action.

what a terrible use of VAR - once its given on the pitch (the ref had a clear view) its not VARs role to overturn it
so clear and obvious he had to review 13 times I thought it was a soft pen thats usually given in Europe - it usually helps the defenders case if he makes contact with the ball Just think that the ref sh5t himself and buckled under pressure - would never have been overturned if given at the other end |

I honestly do not see any point when they send the referee to the screen, I have only read about 1 time the referee stuck to his original decision, what is it 000000.1 % chance, they may as well let VAR overturn it.

VAR's role is not an alternative subjective view of the foul, it is to deal with clear and obvious error by the ref. In this case the ref got it right. It might have been minimal contact, but there was a foul on Eze who played the ball first before the defender made contact with Eze's foot and fouled him. Very hard to understand how the VAR official doesn't know the protocol he has to follow. Simeone's antics whilst the ref reviewed it 13 times was disgraceful and the reason he buckled.

Siminoe had nothing to do with the Ref buckling. Refs always follow VAR advice
imho it was a foul and a pen. I still haven't got over how dreadful a semifinal it was |

Alll to play for don’t think Athletico will fear London really still 50/50 I’d say’s

Watched it a few times, so hard to tell. So stick with on field??? |

Feet brushed and then a dive.

Yeah, all I care about is not wanting to see pens given for that type of nothingness so any one that gets overturned is ok in my book.

Even on that clip its clear, Eze plays the ball then the defender catches Eze's foot. It might be minimal contact but nevertheless it's a foul inside the box and therefore a penalty. Ref gave it and it wasn't a clear and obvious error. VAR is not there to ref the match or offer an alternative view and should not have got involved. The clue is the ref once sent to the screen reviewed, it 13 times...
|
|
By:
Don't disagree with that. It will get to the point where the ref is just the middleman to relay all decisions to the players from the VAR booth.
|
|
By:
Also think all reviews should be in real time, football is not played in slo-mo, frame by frame.
|
|
By:
I can't see clear contact, I'd be 60% that he's caught him
but can't see the actual contact, There's the foot to foot and leg to leg that followed. If ref gives pen for foot to foot then it stays for me If ref gives pen for leg to leg its an error and then he checks foot to foot and maybe doesn't give it As ever if we hear what's going on then we would like Rugby is live referee to var commentary... Football is not. |
|
By:
Why don't all the clubs refuse to play until VAR is booted out f@@k fifa, and f@@k everyone else, all the fanbases would support it, all this "It's not going anywhere so we'll have to get on with it " really p55es me off, if the clubs want it gone enough it would be gone.

Football clubs voted 19-1 to keep it
But seems to me that refs and Var have their f a v s If you ain't on the list it's a bad season |

By:
Yes, only Wolves in the EPL have any room to be able to complain about VAR.

And look what happened to them...

I'm a bit surprised there wasn't more talk about Bayern's pen against PSG, tbh. Looked to me that Diaz fouled Pacho, not the other way round. Although the PSG pen was also a bit dodgy. I'm not sure who will go through now. Bayern will be happy at getting it back to 5-4 from 5-2. So, PSG might be thinking they let it slip to some extent. Looking forward to the 2nd leg. All to play for.
