Former goalkeeper Tony Godden has sadly passed away at the age of 70.
Born in Gillingham, he never actually played for our local club but started off in non league football in Kent before joining West Brom in 1977 where he became a bit of a legend.
He still holds the record for consecutive appearances at WBA (228).
He played for other clubs including Chelsea who he joined for one season after leaving WBA in 1986, during that season he had the distinction of saving two penalties inside a few minutes at Old Trafford.
