Looking at games for upsets, and this one sticks out to me - not just because it's a tricky match, but also as W Ham will be far more bothered about staying up this year rather than playing cup matches. Feels like it must be massively reserve side, and I'm not sure they will even be that bothered if they go out.

But at around 1.44 in price to win it. I've got a nice lay in, and planning to potentially also trade a bit for value if it stays fairly level earlier (or better still Burton could nick one early).

You got a great lay price.

Market doesn't like the look of the team West Ham are playing as it drifted out as high as 1.79 an hour ago

I'm a backer yesterday at 1.44 and today at 1.68

G'luck.

Pretty disappointing comments from Aspro and others imo. But sadly shared by so many fans in the modern era.

Shows how low the game has sunk and money is the only consideration at the top level, sod trying to win a trophy, scraping enough points together to avoid relegation is all that matters, rinse and repeat.

We were all brought up on the glory of the FA Cup, most saw it as the competition we wanted our team to win. Now it seems we want to see our clubs play reserve sides just so the loosely labelled "superstars" get a day off to supposedly aid their league form (it rarely does)Sad.

A good cup run surely gives clubs a boost and gets a feel good factor going. The last time my team (EFC obviously) won it in 1995 they were really struggling near the foot of the table but winning games in the FA  cup galvanised the team and the league form improved leaps and bounds. There's nothing like winning to boost confidence.

I'd agree dixie, but my views were just for betting analysis - understand the motivations and factors.
Report Aspro February 14, 2026 2:24 PM GMT
Not about the money for me Dixie, it is about competing at the top level. The FA Cup is indeed a cup worth winning, but not if it means losing top flight football.

Report DixieDean60 February 14, 2026 2:41 PM GMT
Aspro, where is the proof that resting your first team players in the cup actually aids your chances of staying up ?

If you are competing on 3 or 4 fronts it's more understandable but there are only a dozen league games left in the next FOURTEEN WEEKS. And as there are no replays these days to worry about there would only be four extra games to play before the cup final for the likes of the Hammers. Playing weakened teams is an insult to the competition and to the fans.
Report Crisp77 February 14, 2026 2:46 PM GMT
Potts will get panned for that sending off
Report Aspro February 14, 2026 2:47 PM GMT
The risk of injury is too great to take the chance when survival is paramount. Mid-high teams I agree should not be resting players, but that is the modern world, instigated (imo) by Fergie. I too recall the good old days of the FA Cup but those days are gone. Sad but true.
Report Aspro February 14, 2026 2:48 PM GMT
It is also one of the reasons I seldom bet on any of the cups these days.

West Ham have won 3 and drawn 1 of their last 5... that is good form for survival.

Forest I agree are the ones that could save us, but Gibbs-White is a player that can make something happen. We don't have that at present.

February is almost over with City, Utd, Toon and Arsenal never guaranteeing more than a few points (1 so far). If Arsenal win (likely) we have a few winnable games to recover, but with 11 players out, predominantly first choice players too, it is gonna be tough for us, regardless.

TNT sales manager hauled in tomorrow morning.

Why did you chose this game for the 4th round.

Well, arsenal, top of the league,a great side.

City v Salford, any premier league clash looked better.

BBC had them right off.

They tend to pick premier league teams v each other,so they can sell the media rights to Nigeria or Singapore, dressed up as a prem game.
