The trend seems to be to get in a young caretaker manager for the rest of the season, like Carrick at Man Utd and Rosenior at Chelsea.

I don't think it matters Crisp. We do not have the players/team to compete with all the injuries. Not an excuse by any means, with just one or two injuries it was soon clear we were not going to have a good season.

They are going to want Poch after the WC for sure so they are not going to appoint someone who would have aspirations to be there permanently, so someone like de zerbi would be off the table for starters, it'll have to be someone they can trust with links to the club and doesn't mind doing it temporarily, a Sherwood, Redknapp combo would be possible.

Igor Tudor has agreed a deal to become Tottenham interim head coach until the end of the season.

Thomas Frank was sacked earlier this week, with Spurs five points above the relegation places.

Sources told BBC Sport that Spurs wanted an interim manager in place for the players' return to training on Monday.

Tudor has been out of work since being sacked by Juventus in October 2025 following an eight-match winless run, leaving the club eighth in Serie A.

The 47-year-old has had a varied managerial career, having had stints at Lazio, Marseille, Galatasaray and Udinese among others.

During a nine-year stint as a player with Juventus he won Serie A twice and finished runner-up in the 2003 Champions League final.

Tudor was part of the Croatia squad that was knocked out of the 1998 World Cup at the semi-final stage, eventually finishing third.

More to follow including the thoughts of Danny Rose

Managed Juve for seven months and was given the heave-ho after an eight game winless run, what was it about this guy that appealed as the best candidate when they could have got Harry or Keane and at least have got the fans immediately back on side.

The atmosphere is going to be no better than when Frank was there after appointing this guy if he doesn't get off to an instant good start.

Nine prem games and 2 Champions League games, just enough left, the fans walking out at half time is massive, the board must now view the priority when apppointing the next guy to be someone that the fans are immediately on side with which puts the Redknapps, Sherwoods, Keanes all top of the list.

Yeah, he's been a disaster and shows no capability of turning this ship around. The only hope for Spurs is firing him immediately and bringing in someone familiar with the club and this league.
