officials just dont seem to be bothered enforcing the rules

Have noticed a few myself, but don't care much for the rule anyway and glad they're not taking it too seriously

Surely you are allowed to stand on the line as long as part of foot is behind the line?

Both feet should be on ground, at release, else it's a foul throw.

See one or two a season, given, sometimes none.

I think if ball is put into play fairly or without advantage
then just ignore little faults,

If they are lifting a foot for a long throw then hope
it gets called back.

Officials are too chicken to penalise them

Yep.  Don’t want the “wrath” of Howard Webb to fall upon them for not “managing” a game to his edict by applying the laws.  Can’t be many referees who want to lose their regular salary and fee or suffer the ignominy of de-selection.

Refereeing has always been a tyranny.  I would imagine that every region has its power-base.  In Scotland it is Glasgow.  I don’t know if it is the same now but I would imagine it is - these things rarely change.  50 years ago I know for a fact,  because a senior referee ( who went on to be a FIFA referee ) told me - If provincial referees from, Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling and the like didn’t show willing and put themselves out twice weekly and attend the referee training nights in Glasgow they simply wouldn’t get on in the game.

Good throw ins,creates pressure,quick or slow,knowing where go throw it instantly etc. is a much under used aspect of the game.

You know it’s going to happen,so have a tactic for it.

This is all arsenal have done with corners.

But to stop arsenal ,all you have to do is put 4 men on the half way line. And they’d have to counter this,hence negating their corner.

But hey hoy,these managers and 5 coaches on a million a week can’t solve this.

You can’t be offside from a throw in .so there’s a loop hole to take advantage of straight away

Sticking a man on, or towards goal line was always a thing
from a throw, way back when I played, to exploit offside advantage,

Either they dropped off to defend him, so you'd be OK
from a flick on, or you went straight to man on goal line unmarked and you were
behind the ball so still not offside.

It's remarkable so few teams make these runs from throw in,
almost giving away the advantage of no offside.



Sticking men up near half way line from corner has been done
but you defend them with pacey players, and leave your
best jumpers forward for the corner.. Make sure you
stop keeper getting to ball becomes even more important.

Less players in box makes it easier to connect with
well delivered corner, and you still can run a block.

It’s pot luck,dropping a pin on a head,that you win a corner,plus the keeper has a bigger advantage,but they limit this by putting a defender in his way as well.

But if they don’t score,the chance of a goal the other end is too strong to risk it.

Certainly threatens a counter attack goal from
a better starting position, if you turn it over.

Hence be prepared to take a yellow.

They should bite the bullet and experiment with a change to the law on corners.
Direct crosses into the box should be disallowed and penalised by a goal kick to defending side.  Like any free kick opponents should have to stay ten yards distant from the kicker.  This would immediately cleanse the game of this ridiculous wrestling pantomime we have become accustomed to while allowing the attacking side guaranteed free possession.  Should the attackers take a short corner which is then immediately crossed into the box anyway the ball would at least be deemed “in play” and allow the referee and VAR to take action against the transgressors. As a commentator explained it the other night they don’t deem the ball in play until the corner is kicked and thus any foul wrestling is simply ignored until it is.  In this day and age where every touch of the ball is recorded somewhere they could also count corners and use them to decide the outcome of drawn cup-ties and save us from the drear of extra time.
Give it to the women for a year and see what they make of it, as a trial for top flight football.

Maybe only 4/5 attackers allowed in 6 yard box

Effectively,it’s within the rules to have all 22 players next to the keeper,which makes a farce of a corner.

FIFA tend to be good at changing the rules,but we are turning football into USA football,set plays,chess..

I thought maybe make anybody in 6 yard box deemed
to be interfering with play.

So if in an offside position when a shot comes in they are offside

Not a difficult change to enforce, and stops a lot of
subjectivity and saves on var time.

Would stop attacking teams loading 6 yard box, as defences
could easily catch them offside.
