Champions elect versus the champions.Arsenal v Liverpool

I feel that Liverpool can get a result here,4.5 draw, 6.2 win. 1-1 or 1-2 would be my idea of the correct score.Liverpool do better against strong teams that dont just set out to frustrate and play with a low block. They have recorded wins against Real Madrid,Arsenal and Villa this season.

good luck with your bets.

I certainly wouldn't be rushing to back Arsenal at 4/7 or whatever
Not expecting a classic, or goalfest, but not getting involved until the match starts, if at all
The Madrid derby in the Spanish Cup, being played in Dubai, kicks off at 7pm and could definitely be a goalfest and better to watch

(Cue...Arsenal 3-3, Real Madrid 0-0)

Could easily fluke this one too, who knows.

Cannot have Liverpool in current form. Gunners 1.62. Liverpool will be very happy with a draw.

I don't expect a good game or many goals.

Good luck if you play.

How that isn't a red?

Player in distress on the ground, throws the ball at him then pushes him whilst on the ground. Couldnt have helped the injury.

Bradley then gets stretchered off.

Turgid, risk averse shíte. Not even 1.0 xG between them. Cowardly approach from Arsenal. Doing the bare minimum to win the league instead of going for the throat.
Lucky that both City and pool have managed to spend half a bil to make themselves worse somehow.

where as arsenal have spent a billion on a project to not have the ball for 1/4 time in the 2nd half or a shot for 45 minutes

state of football these days. really is boring as its become to much a results game then an entertainment brand. no wonder people need to punt on these games to keep it interesting

This was the first 0-0 draw between Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League since August 2015. Coming into tonight’s game, there had been 79 goals scored across their last 20 league meetings, at an average of 3.95 per match.

Arsenal were not at their best, they looked knackered, particularly in the second half. Liverpool were very good defensively. Arsenal have played six matches in 19 days and Liverpool five matches in same period. Even so, unusual for this fixture to serve up such a drab match. Martinelli needs to come and apologise; Neville saying “someone should give Martinelli a whack" was a pretty stupid comment though...
Report LoyalHoncho January 8, 2026 10:58 PM GMT
Sounds like ( I didn’t see it so am admittedly speculating ) a very crass act indeed by Martinelli but feigning injury is now so embedded in the game it is surely easy to misread such an actual injury situation.
Report thelatarps January 9, 2026 12:13 AM GMT
I find it baffling how football fans, especially fans of the english game lose their minds over time wasting.
Your team had 90 minutes to score enough goals..
You couldnt do it.
And now you want to keep playing on til your team scores an undeserved winner?

Its kindergarten stuff. Little kids not getting their own way.
All this VAR nonsense has only added to the sense of entitlement.
THe sooner we get back to a standard 3mins of injury time the better.

It's just one match and a testament to the ridiculous schedule, Arsenal are only 50% of the way through a 14-match sequence in 43 days! The stats suggest the teams cancelled each other out. Liverpool failed to have a shot on target, Arsenal managed four. A game to forget. Martinelli contacted Bradley and apologised for his stupidity. Liverpool players/manager dealt with it well.
