Just listening to the Judgement on his recent online crimes. amazing. He is given suspended sentences and is free to carry on his unpleasant life outside of prison. How many more times will this very unpleasant man be forgiven for his sins? I just hope that the FA forbid him from being employed by any Football Club in the future.

I agree with all four posts and half of the o.p.  We might not agree with his sentencing but he has hardly been forgiven or even admonished.  He’ll never change sadly.  We can only hope he breaches the suspended part then gets locked up.

You’re lying fullset, deliberately it would seem.  He did not call the narcissist Vine a paedophile.
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- December 8, 2025 10:48 PM GMT
The implication was by calling him a bike nonce he had called him, or implied
he was a peedo.

He could have argued that,.. but likely he was advised
legal fees would escalate quickly, and he'd be better
to settle as he had a good chance of losing the argument
in court and paying 2 sets of legal fees.

Had I been Barton I would have argued pre court that
bike nonce was not calling him a peedo, and that it
was mocking his appearance whilst cycling that was
decidedly odd, apologised profusely for using the phrase
and promised to be more careful in future.

And reiterated that the phrase was an unfortunate
choice of words and had been misconstrued by Vine
through no fault of his own, and apologised again.

But... He coughed up

Barton is a very dislikeable individual. Had he not been a professional footballer then he’d have spent his life in and out of prison.

I read his book when it was first released. Pretty sure I liked it at the time and felt some empathy towards him. I think that’s all gone now. He’s a grown man now with years of experience behind him and he still can’t keep his emotions in check or his mouth shut. Probably feels that’s the way he should behave to keep his followers interested. A small percentage of those will be as unhinged as he is.

This is the time for Christmas Parties and - where elite athletes are concerned - high jinks.

Yes, Joey Barton famously stubbed a lit cigar into the eye of his young Manchester City teammate, Jamie Tandy, at the club's Christmas party in December 2004, an incident that led to a huge fine and civil action from Tandy, who suffered psychiatric harm. The altercation, where Tandy tried to set Barton's shirt alight with a lighter, resulted in Barton being fined six weeks' wages and Tandy later suing for damages, winning £65,000

He paid Vine £75,000 initially plus costs (which means Vine's legal costs of around £200,000), then an additional £35,000.

Vine himself said: "So Barton paid for the libel. He paid the costs. He paid interest on the costs. He paid the cost of losing a challenge on the costs. And he paid his own costs, which will be more than mine because he had fancier lawyers. He has lost at least half a million pounds."

Joey Barton arrested on suspicion of attacking man near Liverpool golf club

Joey Barton is due to appear in court charged with attacking a man near a golf club in Liverpool.

The former footballer was arrested after the incident outside Huyton and Prescot golf club at 9pm on Sunday.

Barton, 43, was one of two men detained by police as emergency services responded to reports a man had been seriously assaulted.

Merseyside police confirmed that Barton would appear in court later on Tuesday on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent, a form of grievous bodily harm.
The force said the alleged victim was in a serious but stable condition in hospital being treated for severe injuries to his face and body.

Emergency services were called at about 9pm to reports of a man having been assaulted near the golf club.

Barton and another man, Gary O’Grady, 50, were remanded in custody to appear at Wirral magistrates court later on Tuesday.

Police officers remained at the scene on Tuesday morning carrying out fingertip searches behind a cordon. Officers could be seen checking neighbouring gardens while sniffer dogs were at the golf club, about eight miles east of Liverpool city centre.

One neighbour told the Liverpool Echo on Tuesday that they had seen a man on the floor “with blood on him” before they rang 999.
They said they saw police washing blood off the pavement on Monday: “When my partner went to work yesterday morning they had took the cordon down and they were washing the pavement. That’s why there’s sand all over the pavement from where they washed it.”

If he's found guilty they need to throw away the key

Gets worse, lol

Former England footballer and pundit Eni Aluko has been awarded more than £300,000 damages and legal costs after suing Joey Barton for libel over social media posts.

Pundit Aluko brought legal action against Barton over two posts he made in 2024 on social media site X.

Earlier the High Court heard the case had been stayed, meaning proceedings were halted and Barton was ordered to pay "substantial" damages and Aluko's legal costs.

Gervase de Wilde, for Aluko, said that in the two X posts Barton, from Huyton, had wrongly claimed she had "cynically sought to exploit her status as an alleged victim of racism and bullying", and that she was a hypocrite.

Barton - who managed Fleetwood Town and Bristol Rovers - did not attend the hearing, with Mr de Wilde telling the court that he was arrested on Monday and is currently being held in custody.
