Pope injured, would have been dropped, apparently

Enjoyable game, disappointing result, but got to create a bit
more, and take chances.

Ref let a load go, dear me, but for both sides

Spurs played OK, Bergval is going to be a goodun.

If Bentancur had gone down before Burn it's likely not a pen. He didn't look at the ball once and that's naive. But Burn likely had his head pinned with downward force once it was under his armpit and knew what he was doing. There's no way Bentancur is overpowering Burn there to make him go down like that and he's not stopping him jumping either.

Looked a penalty from where we are, they were tussling
then corner comes in burn had let go and it's a foul.

Soon as went to var it seemed obvious they would
send ref to screen.

Loads of it in the game tonight, so could be one
of half a dozen to choose.

Spurs equalised when likely it finishes 1-1 without
pen, so no great shakes, except to let them know
Big Brother is watching and can strike whenever they want.

Yeah but you can't see the bodily/weight force applied, only the arms. Burn looked like he had his head pinned with downward force. All top defenders lean their weight in duels and you can't see it.

Yeah, Burn was forcing his weight into the defender. The arms might have been on him but he could have just stopped and shaken him off easily. Classic winning of a penalty, rather than it being conceded.

Caicedo suspended is fairly significant.  also Leeds are considered a similar-ish level to Forest/Sunderland and better than WHam

why did VAR get involved when it was a 100% twice on Sunday not an obvious error by the reff,as proven by different peoples/pundits opinions on it
By:

When: 03 Dec 25 12:26
var don't get involved 99% of people including burns agree it wasn't a pen and reff right not to blow, var gets involved and reff thrown under the  bus by var and admits making an obvious error despite 99% of people thinking he didn't,they don't help themselves do they

Burn had his arms out horizontal and spurs player put his head
under burns arm as a pivot.

It may well be an incident best ignored, but it's also
a perfect case of a pelanty under the laws of the game.

As above they ignore loads, then select one to penalise,

Spurs were practicing blocking at corners in their warm up

Lol.

Tottenham are the Premier League’s biggest xG overperformers this season (+6.46).

Since the start of last season, no Premier League player has scored more headed goals in all competitions than Arsenal’s Mikel Merino, heading in eight of his 14 goals in that time.

We (Sunderland) are playing brilliantly - Liverpool are truly awful

but there are ominous signs from the referee - waving play-on to obvious fouls,
giving them all the 50/50 decisions, etc.
