Che is one of the proverbial “couldn’t score in a barrel” types.  Just why he took a touch the other night can’t even be guessed at.  Shankland, the best finisher they have btw, sits it out again.

Great performance from Scotland what a match

Great in spells, rubbish in others, typical Jekyll and Hyde stuff but to deliver on the night, like that, is simply amazing.  Sixty years I’ve been watching and supporting Scotland and I’ve never seen anything like it.  All the previous angst and disappointments just melt away.  So many memorable things on the night like the volcano of yeeeeeeessssssssss from the commentators when the third and fourth went in and, believe it or not, to see the normally exceptionally, guarded, taciturn and dreich dour Steve Clarke shed all his inhibitions and DELIGHT with the squad and anybody else just like an ordinary fan somehow was the cream on the cake!   Somehow, to see him absolutely beaming and ecstatic seemed to make it even better.

lighting a candle for ARCHIE GEMMIL tonight ,went from been the scorer of Scotland's best ever world cup goal to 4th best in just over an HR last night
