I don't get this ,firstly why do Wolves want him ,his record is not that great , secondly, why does he want to leave Boro who are in hunt for promotion to join Wolves who are looking like getting relegated ,don't understand it.
How about this... Been tapped up, via his agent, Wolves willing to pay double or treble his current wages, plus compensation to Boro, to preserve Premier league status and all the money that goes with it He fails, contract gets paid up... Next please He succeeds, new contract, other clubs interested It's a win win

Can't see that Reg.. If you are prepared to blow other clubs away with how much you can pay a manager then surely you would aim higher than Rob Edwards.
I'm doubtful Wolves are paying out full contracts to sacked managers as the last 2 went a couple of months into 3 or 4 year deals. Likely have clauses limiting payouts.
Wolves currently have a 20% chance of being in the premier league next season. Midlesbrough 33%.
Walking out of Middlesbrough after 3 months and then failing at Wolves would likely end his career at any decent level.
It doesn't make sense to me.

Yes, the club will insert a clause in the contract that limits the potential payoff to less than the full term of the contract such as... If sacked in year 1,compensation up to end of year 2 That would still be a considerable sum The money aside, for a young manager getting a Premier League job guaranteed, as opposed to hoping to achieve it through his current club's promotion is very tempting Once you've had some success as a manager, as he has, it seems there's always a club willing to overlook any failures at another club... Steve Bruce never seemed to have a problem getting another club, for example
Also, Wolves might be thinking that they are going down the Newcastle route and getting a long term British manager in place

Yes it's mainly family, apparently he has to get up early and drive for hours just to see his kid one day a week. Maybe Wolves have one eye on next season already and know they f'd up with their transfer business in the summer.

It must be one of the finest pension scams in British financial life. Become a football manager, fail repeatedly, amass a small fortune of payoffs. By fifty life is a breeze.

I've had this conversation regarding what Honcho just said many times recently
Will there be enough working people in say 10 years time to pay the pensions for the pensioners? Basically, people living longer, less workers paying tax due to less jobs, disinclination to work, more on benefits etc

I keep hearing about "people living longer" but the above article shows that last year, due mainly to covid, the figures fell back to the 2010 levels.
That will obviously grow again but from all I'm reading of late we are now levelling out somewhat.
Why do married men die earlier than their spouse?
Because they want to
