I think Dragon is secretly shaking in his boots, he knows full well last season Liverpool had no competition due to Arsenal's injuries to key players and with Man City inexplicably falling off of a cliff so Slot had a free run at the title with Klopp's team whilst keeping all of his best players fit.
This season Arsenal have doubled down and strengthened every position so there's no excuses with injuries and City are slowly getting back to where they were. All the while Slot, who didn't make a single signing in his first window because the squad was already that well plenished, then tries to stamp his own mark with his mega signings which has completely gone against Liverpool tradition in the transfer market, and has so far failed, even though they're second they look miles away from gelling as a team, T-A-A hasn't been replaced sufficiently, Bradly no where near that technical level, Salah clearly misses Trents support and assists, he looks a shadow of his former self, Frimpong has a lot of pace but is more rough rather than a rough diamond. Arne's even had to shove Szoboszlai at right back to help out. Ekitike is a good player but looks like Liverpool didn't really need him. Looks like the league is too fast for Wirtz so far. Macalister misplacing so many passes. I think 3rd or 4th for Liverpool this season. Kind Regards. |

Slot sacked if Liverpool don't win it ? Spent hundreds of millions on a title winning team to come 2nd ?!

1.83 is a ridiculous price for a team that squandered an 8-point at x'mas not so long ago. A definite lay. I think Man City at 4.7 is a value bet as long as Haarland is playing and not injured.

Arteta will be in real trouble if he doesnt win it this year with Liverpool and City going through changes
Another £300m in transfers with minimal outgoings |
|
By:
What changes are Liverpool or City going through, are they are on their period?
Arsenal have also brought in a few more new players, Gyokores, Eze, Zubimendi etc, don't see us making those excuses lol. |
|
By:
The toughest challenge for Arsenal is the mental challenge facing Arsenal. I think they have confidence but not enough arrogance. I think they will acquire it over this season. All they need is a flat track bully like Gykores hitting the net. I think even Havertz could score regularly in this team.
Gykores will stretch the defence to give more room for Eze and Odegaard to operate in. Saka will always be double teamed but the others can use the space. Liverpools lucky streak is over. Citeh are not complete and Rodri is vulnerable. Van D yke or Harland get injured? |
|
By:
what a strange response - do you often think about womens periods when discussing mens football!!
Liverpools changes are the overhaul of the squad and change of formation Just to remind you the outgoings Trent Diaz Doak Elliot Kelleher Mc Connell Nunez Quansah Tsimikas Morton And the tragic death of Jota RIP Thats a full team who were all part of the first team squad and the transfer fees brought in were about what Arsenal spent |

Can the bitter dippers think about their comments before posting.
arsenal are taking your trophy I think. but I will add that if they slip up it will 100% be you winning the prem |

maybe I nee to back both teams in the win prem market.
cheers dips comment away |

Are you having laugh, what possible relevance does Morton(who?), Quansah, Tsimikas, Mc Connell? (who?) Doak possibly have
- all complete irrelevances ffsThat's not the reason why you've been struggling is it If you wanted to go down that route, then we've lost Tavares, Tierney, Zinchecko, Partey, Jorghino, Sterling, Neto, Hein, Tomiyasu, Nelson, Viera, Konga, Marquinhos and Kiwor. Slot had a free ride last season after Arsenal had lots of injuries to key players, now we have cover. Slot is struggling in the league for a few reasons, one being he is moaning after every game that the opposition is not playing the way he wants them too, complaining about long balls and over physicality, was at it again last night, sayig the difference last night was that Frankfurt was not playing the ball in the air, translation, that's for lying down and rolling over for us ![]() Kind Regards. |

Pool lost a lot in Trent, Diaz and Nunez and Robbo too in reality. Jota (RIP) as well but not to the same extent.
They seem to have made some uncharacteristically poor decisions in the transfer market, their replacements at FB seem to be a big step down and they've not replaced the workrate of Diaz & Nunez. I thought the signing of that keeper to replace Kelleher effectively was bizarre too. Looks another step down to me. People focus more on the performance of the big money signings and the number of changes but they underestimate how good and important Trent and Robbo were for them over the years and the effect the death of Jota may have on them. |
|
By:
those departures were one transfer window not over many Quansah played 17 games
Arsenal crying over injuries last season were well overplayed. The points they dropped early season were when key players were available Saka was an injury waiting to happen and was Artetas fault as he seemed to play every minute with no rest |
|
By:
Diaz is a big miss for sure.
Ekitike is a wonderful player who would have been better than Gykores. I think Gykores can do a job and bang in lots of flat track goals but he is not a factor X player and Arsenal need one for the Champion's League. Can’t see anyone stopping Arsenal right now in the league. |

22nd September - 2-2 Man City - lost Odegaard October 19th - Bournemouth 0-2 - lost Saka and Odegaard 27th October - 2-2 Liverpool - lost Saliba, Odegaard November 2nd - Newcastle 0-1 - lost Odegaard 8th December - 1-1 Fulham - lost Gabriel 4th January - 1-1 Brighton - lost Saka 18th January - 2-2 Villa -lost Saka, Jesus 22nd February - 0-1 West Ham - lost Saka, Martinelli, Havertz, Jesus 26th February - 0-0 Forest - lost Saka, Martinelli, Havertz, Jesus 9th March 1-1 Man United - Lost Saka, Havertz, Jesus at this point, league was already lost, you can't lose that many key players across the course of the season and expect to win. Kind Regards. |

It would spice the EPL right up were they to win it. Can they also put in a deep CL run/challenge. Arsenal v Kane and Diaz in the final. Tasty!
|
|
By:
So to February you lost one or 2 players out of your massive squad
Jesus hardly started as well You’ve made my point for me I’m not moaning about the physicality of the league just making the observation that perhaps Liverpool need to put out a more physical side when we are playing a set piece team I used to watch us struggle against the likes of Wimbledon, Bolton and Stoke who used to play like that |
|
By:
Frimpong and Kerkez only seem to make sense if the plan is to switch to a system with wing-backs, which doesn't appear to be the case. Neither of them can rotate into midfield like Trent did, you don't want them defending in a back 4 or in the back line when playing it out. Push them on and drop a midfielder back to make a 3 when playing out.
Very disruptive signings to the way Liverpool played under Klopp and last season and Bradley is similar. Arsenal's attack doesn't look any better to than last season when it wasn't good enough and they played the ball forwards at a pedestrian pace. It will have to improve a lot to win the CL imo. It would be smart to try to put teams away earlier and go for more goals, rest Saka much more. They have tonnes of cover on that side too. |
|
By:
No.
We dropped all those points because we lost those key players in stark contrast to Liverpool who barely lost any of these key players throughout the season, any reasonable, sensible thinking person would simply acknowledge that but I undertand how difficult it is for some people to take of the rose tinted spectacles. The Arsenal squad did not have the depth last season to cover those injured like it does this season, therein lies the difference, it's the year we lost Saliba when top of the league and he was replaced by Holding who was God awful, and City went onto win the league. When Saka was out last season we had the busted flush that was Sterling in his place, this season we had Madueke who is far better, when we lost Odegaard last season we had Merino, this season we have Eze who's far better in that role. They will click and gel eventually, but still Arsenal look to be the strongest squad in the league this season. Kind Regards. |

Liverpool got lucky last year, simple as that. You have to take your luck and they did. Arsenal had enough to win but lost crucial games. They had a chance to beat Citeh previously but blew up.
|
|
By:
I wouldn't call what Liverpool did last year lucky, they were just very clinical in attack. I doubt they'd have been able to replicate that again with the same players but I wouldn't call it lucky, just much more ruthless and aggressive and prepared to take more risk.
Arsenal took a big step down last season in attack. Yes, they had injuries to key attacking players but they were as bad in attack when those players were fit. Manager seems to be relying more on his defence and set-pieces this season and last and getting the ball forward more slowly, allowing teams to set up shop defensively in a low block instead of trying to hit them on the counter before they can do that. They have 5/15 PL goals from open play, 10/15 from corners and pens so far. Better defensively and without the ball but that is concerning and something different to the new attackers still finding their feet. |
|
By:
you dont get lucky over 38 games especially when the league isnt even close.
Towards the end of the season Arsenal chose to target the champions league - hardly liverpools fault we had two key starters out last night Allison and Gravenberch without the reds moaning about injuries Allison is one of the top 3 goalkeepers in the world yet was out last year and this year, You saw how important he is to us in the away game at PSG last year Kerkez is like a bull in a china shop - I hope the coaches are teaching him not to run up and down like a headless chicken |
|
By:
I think Liverpool were lucky but collectively
Citeh were spent Arsenal missed their chance Liverpool got plenty of late goals, ok Champions do but there was a large element of luck at times. They were lucky they did not get serious injuries to keep players, maybe their training techniques are better but as I keep saying an injury to Harland or van D yke and the race is over! I still feel Arsenal need a better centre forward. Thing is they have strength everywhere else they can identify and target the final piece |
|
By:
Don’t get me wrong Liverpool were worthy winners and Salah was on fire.
|
|
By:
City were without Rodri who was absolutely fundamental to their team, was not a Balon D'or winner for nothing.
Arsenal lost too many key players throughout the season and didn't have enough strength in depth to cover. Liverpool lost Alisson to be replaced by Kelleher who looked very very good. I imagine they wanted to keep him but with his level deserved first team football elsewhere. That's about the long and short of it, of course Liverpool deserved to win the league because they won it after 38 matches. But the simple point people make is that they were never under any real pressure from any other team throughout the course of the season and they managed to keep all their most pivotal players fit throughout. That's not to say that they would not have won the title even if Rodri as fit and City did not inexplicably fall off a cliff losing game after game after game or Arsenal having their best players fit, but the point remains that they basically had a free run at the league title unchallenged. They are only 4 points behind now, but based on the all the evidence thus far, Arsenal are deserved favourites, they were even favs when 1 pt behind Liverpool, the market know what it's looking at, but that can change. Kind Regards. |
|
By:
I don't think Kelleher wanted to leave, they signed the new keeper a year ago and loaned him out. That was a strange decision. There was no need to replace Kelleher and he looks like a step down so far, certainly not worth spending 30 mill on when you already had the other two.
