The format worked well last year,.

Unless I am overestimating the strength in depth of Spanish football, I reckon Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool are in for a bit of a reality check.

Don't agree. I think Atleti are on the slide and have been for a couple of seasons. Been very ropey in the league this season.

My hot take is that I reckon Xabi doesn't last the season at Real. Got maximum points so far but most games have been a bit scrappy and the attack isn't exactly flying. Weirdly for them they're pretty tight at the back, though - amusingly - that's in part because he's playing Carvajal at RB instead of Trent. Eyebrow was a master at keeping the star names happy. It won't be long before one of Trent, Jude, M'Bappé or Vini kicks off imo.

I've not watched any foreign football this season and no Premier League side has really hit any form so I won't be risking my money on any games this week.

Don't mix up PSG and psv

Ditto athletico at atletico

Newcastle have Spanish opposition too, a remarkable
draw to throw up so many clashes in week 1.

Man City and Chelsea have tough openers too.

Agreed.  Some terrifically watchable, high-scoring stuff last year.  Hoping for a repeat.

I follow Union results and they have been a very good side domestically. I stayed clear.

Gosh the Arsenal game is dreadful. I fancied to lump on but glad I have not. Might not even bother with an addicts shilling.

Looked at Arsenal -1 at 5's and 8's, nearly added them to the later homes giving 20-1 but to be fair Arsenal have not been good tonight.

Sadly that goalkeeper ****-up for the goal hasn't done much for the game. Quite a tepid affair atm.
