Facts need to be faced.

People bang on about the good old days when there were 400 people on a Barca United thread and bemoan the fact threads even for massive games now have less than 20 people viewing.

Those 380 missing people haven't been banned from this forum. They've left for twitter or other modern platforms. They've left for shiny new platforms they can easily use on their phones. Platforms where they can easily view and swap bang up to date opinion and swap memes without waiting 7 hours to get them approved.

They now do all their betting via betting apps. They watch matches with their phones by their side getting push notifications from betting companies.

This place is moribund because in an ever changing world it has stood still for 20 years.

Popular Social Media Platforms for Sports Bettors

Sports betting enthusiasts use social media to share picks, discuss strategies, follow influencers, track live odds, and build communities around games. The rise of legalized betting in many regions (e.g., 38 US states as of 2025) has amplified this, with platforms blending real-time updates, viral trends, and peer-to-peer interactions. Based on usage trends, Twitter/X stands out as the dominant hub—70% of bettors use it for info, and those on it wager 15% more annually than on other sites. Younger demographics (Gen Z and millennials) lean toward visual platforms like TikTok and Instagram, while Reddit offers deeper discussions. Facebook is more for ads and groups but less interactive for betting.

Well, I looked up moribund in my dictionary, and it said “Moribund, adjective, meaning about to die, or dying”. I ask you “is this forum about to die?”

Without attracting new users this forum will die. That's a fact.

How it attracts new users I have no idea.

I can't see betfair investing any money on jazzing up the platform.

I don’t use social media, Facebutt, Twitter, Insta, Tik Tok. I got plenty of good advice from the cricket forum in years gone by. I like to hear people’s opinions. I thought that as gamblers and presumably sports fans we would have far more in common than I see.

This is what the forum grass is doing, if you press the report button next to a post, you are given 9 options, one of the options is 'harassment/Cyberbullying', it's this option he keeps hammering away it with various accounts that automatically gets a post removed.

this is what he posted 5 days before I was banned

mes you can call me a grass as much as you like. It doesn't bother me a jot. I'm not in the least bit shy about reporting anyone who's repeatedly abusive.

Who knows I might have a long list of bookmarked posts where you have been abusive

Nobody is abusing him, he goes around every tipping thread criticising and abusing the person making predictions, calling them fantasist, morons, attention seekers, buffoons etc, then plays the victim .

He wont be happy til the only posters left are him and his 5 other accounts.

Kind Regards.

Realistically they remove one side of the argument
then allowed 3 or 4 others to continue doing that
to you, without right of reply.

Just doesn't make sense, clearly the guys you were
bantering with missed your input,... One of them
an obvious report button specialist must be lucky
nobody reported him...

Not much chance of a friendly place for users to share ideas and have respectful discussions when 90% are crypto fascists.

Nothing whatsoever wrong with a bit of fascism if it is the only alternative available to fight rank socialism.  It is certainly far superior to hard line socialism and is possibly the only cure for this conspiracy of woke which has been allowed to dominate our every waking thought in recent times.
The big problem is that once democracy gets over-turned it will be gone forever.  Our descendants will never get it back if it does go.
Our young people CAN’T let that happen.

Lets keep it clean sports fans. I mean personal abuse and all in the right circumstances of course but politics is too dirty for sports fans.
