Isak will most likely be a success for Liverpool but you can't ignore that the narrative concerning too many cooks and Ekitike's momentum being stunted is very much a player here.

Ask Liverpool fans

Gakpo or Ekitike on the left?

The big mistake was not getting Guehi. Did they hand negotiations over to Arsenal?

It wasn't a 'mistake'
The club wouldn't or couldn't sell.
The characters of the players we buy, is as important as their reputaions as footballers.
Can you name a Liverpool player in recent times to throw his toys out of the pram for not being on the starting team sheet (unlike Manure players who end up leaving for their purchase [price in no time at all)

Ekitike will get plenty of minutes. He won't see his progress stunted.

Tell Arteta that because he did not have even one centre forward in the last 3 years!

Saliba gets injured and the wheels fell off the wagon.

Liverpool should have paid Palace £50 mill or whatever they wanted. Their defence is their glaring weakness but by God do they have some firepower to get them out of trouble.

Salah threw his toys out of the pram at Klopp in full view of the watching millions, I wouldn't rule out some more disharmony from him as the season progresses by the way.

How was Salah’s form the previous season there was an African Cup of Nations?  Serious question.

Pretty good!

certainly better than any Arsenal striker since RVP over a decade ago!

I fail to see what RVP has to do with the African Cup of Nations.  However thanks for the info. on Salah.

Nothing!

Salah still scored more goals than any Arsenal player! He was brilliant last season and without him they could not have won the league.

Credit where due.

I give him credit, only a fool wouldn’t.  I rate him as the best Liverpool goalscorer ever, above them all.  My question was whether he has ever been distracted by a forthcoming A.C. of N. and not played quite as well as usual.

Why would he be distracted?

He seems to be a model professional and came to the defence of former title winning colleagues this week

Salah's made his money. He must be a multi millionaire many times over? He's not as quick as he used to be but who is? He owes Liverpool nowt and the fans love him. Win, win innit?

My beef with Liverpool is they're allowed to 'tap up' star players from their rivals.
Their fan boys in the press love it of course.
But what about the likes of Harvey Eliot?
A local lad who came through the ranks at Anfield?
He's been farmed out on loan to Villa.
If the Scousers are happy to bellow "You'll never walk alone" to a mob of multi-millionaire mercenaries fair enough.
I wonder if the word 'betrayal' ever strays across their ale stained minds?

You are sounding desperate Blake. This is not Glasgow in 1967!

I like Harvey Elliot.

Everybody taps up star players and even yoofs!

The fan boys in the press or whateva were put firmly in their place by Mo Salah this week!

Blakey , i agree with your 19.36 post.

How sad is it that the ENGLISH Premier League champions have twice (in three league matches) this season fielded starting elevens without a single brit lining up for them.
And in the other game there was only one (Curtis Jones).  We have had foreign players playing on these shores for decades which is great, but it has got out of hand now.  .

there was a match live on sky about a dozen or so years ago between arsenal and chelsea. the only englishman on the pitch at kick off was the referee.

The potential problem with Salah going forward is clear to see how it will play out, a couple of things are happening now, he is becoming less of the focus with the new arrivals and he is becoming more of a presence on social media.

His latest dig at the fans, telling them to show some respect at last seasons cast could be interpreted of his nose being put out of joint by the recent arrivals, one thing can be assured of, if and when Salah does have a problem, we'll all know about it.

Only if you are bitter, twisted and jealous or hopeful for his premature demise!

He is a model professional. His speed might be going who knows and you are right there are threats across the front line now. That should give him more space. Lets see how that goes. For the record I have disliked Liverpool since 1970.

The fact that he is less of the focus is a good thing from a Liverpool point of view but he might not see it like that, it is ironic that he has called out the fans regarding the Diaz and Nunez issue when it was he who was less than gracious toward Nunez when he missed his pen against PSG.

Salah has been fantastic for Liverpool but for all his model professionalishness, I have a doubt about him if and when he ceases to be the centre of the universe, but that might be because I am bitter, twisted and jealous.Grin
