well let's see. I don't really see any takers for him this summer unless Liverpool have some mad scheme. It feels like he's not agitating for a particular move, more that he's pissed off at broken promises etc.

Agree with PP, he's not agitating for a particular move, if he was he would have let it be known weeks ago before other deals had been done, Liverpool will still be wishing he'd done it a fortnight ago before they'd dealt for Ekitike.

I think if he had a release clause we'd have heard about it by now. All we've heard is how much Newc want or value him at.
He seems to want more money rather than to leave and Newc can agree to that in return for a high release clause. His wages are around the 120k a week mark reportedly. |

If its confidential and negated by being made public
then it would be nonsensical to openly quote it after gibbs white got caught. Even Rooneys missus could work out who would have leaked it without resorting to wagitha mode. |

Once the dye has been cast then it quickly turns rotten, Newcastle can dig in alright but they can't make the player behve himself if he isn't professionally minded to do so, everyone loses.

Unfortunately for Newcastle, they have an outlier of a player in that he's too big for where they are at the moment they need him when they finally get to the top table, PSR wise, right now he's just a problem because they can't operate with him how they'd like, he and Newcastle are both big fish forced into a small pond.
What Newcastle need to be able to do is get to where they want to be with a squad of players that no-one else is going to go after and are easily managed wage wise....very difficult to do. |

As injecting enough cash without sales isn't possible (unless you cheat like city) Obviously replacing him is vital too. Can afford to pay him 300k a week but then they all want it and can't afford that. Seemed obvious he would leave, but this is ahead of what was expected,... Is it worth fighting to keep him.. Can Eddie smooth it out? |

They paid £63m for him and he's scored 20+ PL goals 2 years in a row since. He is definitely worth £100m in today's market.
I'd say one or two clubs have tapped him up and he knows he could be on much more elsewhere and wants more money. Why would he wait until the big clubs have spent most of their budgets before piping up if he wants a move? |

At the end of the day the vast majority of footballers are mercenaries. Given they only have around 10 - 15 years at the top of their profession this shouldn't surprise anyone. Obviously there's the odd exception (Jared Bowen, Bruno Fernandez) but the facts stand.

According to Kieran Maguire who is an expert in football finance, Liverpool could spend another £200m this window and still not breach PSR. Increased attendance, new shirt deal, bonuses from sponsors, have spent 1bn less than Chelsea in the last 4 years.
They spent very little last summer and got more in from sales than they spent. People are comparing them to City/Chelsea and completely ignoring this. They could also get money in by selling Nunez and Diaz on top of that and they've already got £50m in from sales this window. Real Madrid should sell Vini, move Mbappe out left and get Isak. |

I think his only way out is to Saudi, where Newcastle could luckily make enough money to clear their worries. Given the fees for Ekitike and Gyokeres no proper club is paying that much more surely. But a transfer of funds to Riyadh North, and a year for Isak to pick up stupid money in the middle east before being sold for a realistic fee next summer: could happen maybe.

PSR was voted through by the big six to keep the rest at bay and it's working, they don't want Newcastle becoming the next Chelsea and City. Next step is once they're are 14 American owners in the Premier League, the trap door will be slammed shut and relegation will be no more. Kind Regards.
