It looks like it goes on goals difference , goals scored , head to head points , head to head away goals , then play off , so it looks like a play off is only possible if the man city arsenal game finishes 1-1

Newcastle game is the biggest game left for Arsenal IMO, it has that banana skin feel to it despite Newcastle being worse than useless but it would give Arsenal a big psychological boost as they could enjoy being top again for a full week as City have to wait to play.

Arsenal will be 2 up soon enough, then it's up to them to increase goal difference. If they want it.
I think Newcastle players have flip flops welded to feet.

City moaning about playing 3 games in 7 days (incl FA Cup final)
I remember the toffees in 1978 played 3 games in 4 days over Easter and won all 3 (v Newcastle, Man U and Leeds). Big Bob scored in every game and only one change was made to the team over that weekend. No whinging about fixture congestion in them days .

Assuming City beat both Palace and Bournemouth, which is certainly no given (Arsenal beating Burnley should be though), this could be an interesting final day at the top. In this scenario, Arsenal have a massive edge. Villa have the final behind them, whilst Palace still have to play theirs and will not want to be losing players to injury. I would expect Palace to rest players here.
Personally I feel City will drop points at one of those and Arsenal will wrap it up before the final day, but either way, hard not seeing Arsenal winning it now.

Not a great season, was it. Spurs finished 2nd in 2016/17 with a higher points total and scored eleven more goals (and conceded fewer). Ars*nal won by default as the other contenders didn't even bother to show up. Anyway, they did what they needed to do so I guess congratulations are in order.

They had a massive wobble but got back on track, and Citeh aint the team they were.
Arsenal are a good team though, maybe manager had to do it this way to get them over line.

In 16/17 more than half the sides in the league were a lot worse. 5th place was 75 points, this year it was 60. 15 point gap between 7th and 8th. 15 points between 7th and 18th this year.
Arsenal were a better side 2 years ago imo but this year, like Liverpool did twice, took advantage of the other 1/2 title rivals having a poor year. 85 points this year is still pretty impressive in the circumstances, despite their football being dull to watch.

that's a fair assessment Lurka, Arsenal scored 91 goals and got 89 points 2 years ago, only conceding 2 more goals in the process. The team 2 years ago deserved to win the league so I suppose things have evened out now
