I thought it was very harsh however with that rules nowadays I was hardly shocked by it.

Yeah, weird one. Hard to see in real time, players didn't make a deal of it, but you see the highlights and it is a pen. Well done to VAR I suppose.

It was a shot that may have been scored had his hand not been outstretched, which softened the shot sufficiently to drop tamely into Raya's gloves. Not deliberate by any means and yes a tad harsh, but a hand stopping a potential goal? Not sure how it can be argued and totally bemused by the commentators reactions too; all very unprofessional. Should be ashamed.

RTE pundits said it wasn't a penalty and they were not Arsenal fans definitely, neither am I.
Just before was given, it appeared that sakha maybe have had sufficient contact on him in penalty box, in the context of what was given the previous evening, for a check.
I only seen it once, there was no replay, but I said to her, this will checked after last nights decision.
When check came up we assumed in my house that was what it is for, after match the RTE pundits said similar.
Anyway good luck to PSG in final, I think they will win it.

It was a pen all day long under the rules. VAR did its job competently. The ref has no discretion.
The rule needs changing because giving a 79% scoring chance from an opportunity which in which you have less than 15% chance of scoring is unfair. But it opens up games and leads to higher scoring games and for the powers that be adds drama, so it's not going to change.

I'm not a referee but you make a valid point on the powers to be wanting more goals, I slate players for being too cowardly in going to block, but perhaps it's hand ball issues which restricts the determination ?
Did anybody get a better look at Sakha thing ? I only seen it once, but my first thoughts were that will get checked, even though I wouldn't have gave it, but I did wonder that could be a penalty in context with previous big decisions in big matches.

Its all about how they interpret the rules in Europe, any faint touch to the hand is given as apenalty.

When Newcastle lead PSG 1-0 into the 96th minute in Paris, the ball jumped up off his leg and hit Lewis Miley on the hand, arms close to his side and could do nothing about it, however, the way they interpret the rules in Europe meant that it was given as a penalty, at least they are consistent.

absolutely ridiculous that an accidental handball like that warrants a free shot on goal from the spot. would have spoiled the game for me had he scored. i would have kicked it wide on purpose, i wouldnt want to win like that
