According to Grok...

For the latest Arsenal team news ahead of their Premier League match against Crystal Palace on April 23, 2025:

Bukayo Saka: Mikel Arteta confirmed Saka has a good chance of playing, having recovered well from recent concerns after limping in a previous match. He’s available for selection.

Riccardo Calafiori and Jorginho: Arteta provided updates, but specific details on their availability for the Crystal Palace game are less clear. Jorginho was noted as unavailable for a prior match due to personal reasons, and Calafiori’s status may still be in question.

Ben White: Returned to training and was in the squad for a recent match, suggesting he’s likely available.

Thomas Partey: Also back in training and available, with his camp reportedly optimistic about a contract extension.

Gabriel, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus: Previously mentioned as injured during the Real Madrid Champions League match, but no specific updates confirm their status for Crystal Palace.

Lineup Hints: Arteta is balancing selections with the upcoming Champions League semi-final against PSG. Recent lineups included Saka, Declan Rice, and Leandro Trossard, with young players like Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly featuring prominently.

No major new injuries were reported, but Arteta’s focus on the PSG match may lead to rotation.

Crystal Palace's team news ahead of their Premier League match against Arsenal on April 23, 2025:

Ben Chilwell: Ruled out due to illness, missing training in the lead-up to the match.

Chris Richards: Suspended and unavailable for the game.

Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucouré: Remain sidelined with long-term injuries.

Eddie Nketiah: Poised to start against his former club, Arsenal, as manager Oliver Glasner considers lineup changes.

Tyrick Mitchell: Likely to start at left-back in place of Chilwell.

Marc Guéhi: Back in the squad and expected to feature after recent appearances.

Key Players: The attacking trio of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Eberechi Eze, and Ismaila Sarr is highlighted for their pace and power, with the Eze-Mateta connection noted as a key threat, having supplied six goals this season.

Squad Availability: Glasner has confirmed no new injuries beyond the listed absentees, with the rest of the squad fit and available.

Potential Changes: Glasner is contemplating a few lineup adjustments due to the quick turnaround and an upcoming FA Cup semi-final, but specific changes beyond Nketiah and Mitchell are unconfirmed.

Certainly not a match worth betting on. I suppose Arsenal need to keep an eye on Forest & Citeh re 2nd place, but the focus is on the PSG semi-final CL tie coming up and not tonight's match, no matter what Arteta might say.

Raya has been useless tonight, flapping at crosses, missing catches, kicking the ball when attempting to pass it out from the back.

I still don't see him being better than Ramsdale, even if he is it's marginal.

he's no better than Ramsdale though, Ramsdale's been unlucky he's been in such poor teams to be relegated so often, Arteta must have of had enough of his interactions with the crowd and then saying he struggles to concentrate for 90 minutes so needs to do that.

There's no sour grapes at all, If Arsenal can't win the league, I'd always much rather Liverpool win it than any of the other so called big 6, there's nothing personal there but you have to admit you've had a free ride.

Liverpool pretty much all season long have never needed to get out third gear, they've had no pressure on them because all of the other runners and riders this season where either so abject they fell off a cliff or they had one too many key injuries to key players, Rodri in particular for City, Arsenal losing Saka, Odegaard, Saliba and White for periods, it's not an excuse but simply a reason, it's not Liverpool fault either, it's sods law they've had no challenge.

We've no real idea if Slot is an elite manager either, he took over Klopp's oven ready team and ran away with the league because it was already primed for success coupled with their no rivals to compete with them this season.

Hard to tell with the PSG games either, because PSG were levels above the PSG team earlier in the season so you caught them at a bad time and it'll be a much different game next week for Arsenal as well as they're also levels above Madrid.

Kind Regards.
Report lurka April 23, 2025 11:05 PM BST
Arsenal have been in the same position as Spurs and United for weeks - the league is not important and avoiding injuries is more important than 3 points.

Raya is at a consistently higher level than Ramsdale ever was and has been for a long time.

PSG signed Kvara in Jan. He is not the only reason why they've improved but a big one. The main reason for the pool result, which was still a shock, was that Liverpool were well below par overall in the two legs, esp the 1st where they were awful, and their form since before then has dropped noticeably, despite them not losing ground in the PL.
Report lurka April 23, 2025 11:16 PM BST
They still only got beaten on pens and could have gone thru undeservedly, but the decision to let Nunez take a pen was unbelievable. I'd have brought Kelleher on for him in the 120th minute rather than entertain even the slight chance that Nunez could take the 11th penalty. Apparently he's on 49 PL games and pool have to pay another few million if he gets to 50, so good chance he'll never wear the shirt again.
Report mesmerised April 23, 2025 11:50 PM BST
Raya has made many mistakes this season, it's always glossed over because he's general level of performances have been good, but that was exactly the same with Ramsdale, when it came to him being replaced, pretty much everyone was perplexed, nobody was ever talking about Ramsdale being a problem or a hinderance that season. The reason why it's strange was because a) Arteta signed him and then b) according to rumours, he then replaced him for 'tactical reason's' when he then thought he wasn't good enough with his feet to fit into Arsenal's style of playing it out from the back, shouldn't have signed him the first place then. I've seen Raya many times, just like tonight, completely lose concentration, flap at crosses and make poor passes. Still maintain they're about the same level. But doesn't matter now anyway.

Kind Regards.
