don't understand why he's giving Foden another go, after his poor performance the other day.

That’s what I’m talking ‘bout

Unlucky Rashford, goodbye

cracks papered over, but not the most encouraging start for Tuchel.

Eze can do what Rashford could not. Take Rashford out unless Tuchel is experimenting with Rashford. Why?

I've not heard any criticism of Tuchel yet. Could it be the football pundits are a wee-bit afraid of him because of who he is ie an elite football coach.

He wasn’t on the pitch!

Why would you criticise Tuchell?

You don’t need to be an elite coach to see what was happening on the pitch

25 man squad people could drop 10 an d pick their own 10+ ,which gives you around a squad of 40, Pickford, bell, rice, Kane, sakas will be starting every game so you might as well throw the other 35 in the air and see which 5 balls land 12st,to many players of similar ability and because of that 2 many changes game to game

It’s all about the blend and people with the courage as well as skill.

Eze was a plus yesterday. Foden did ok at 10.

Ball speed was poor. Poncing around in the middle of the pitch is pointless.

Inverted full back is pointless when teams park the bus. Get them supporting the wide men

I said all along, blend the midfield. We have enough good players certainly forwards. Bowen doesn’t make my cut either. Rashford is not doing it for me now either.

Palmer, Foden, Rogers, Mainoo, Gomes, Wharton all good but cannot all play alongside Rice and Bellingham

I see sportinlife have added skelly to my 5 certain starters so that leaves 5 places for around 40 possibles depending on who,s your cup of tea, as those 5 will include at least 2 centre backs and a right back, leaves around 20 attacking players squabbling over 2 places.maybe 1 if they go for extra defensive midfielder/dog of war in bigger games

It’s a though call.  Have to let Tuchell sort it out.

Is skelly better than Hall.

Shirley a left back should be judged on ability
to be a left back and not the work done attacking
through right side of midfield getting in Morgan Rogers way
and leaving rashford 1 on 2 down left

With saka on right, possibly supported by trent
then we need a left back staying home but capable
of breaking quickly too.

When: 26 Mar 25 15:16
True, not seen enough of either. I do know Skelly is a kwality footballer. The thing is to win tournaments you need kwality defenders against the best so TAA does not make my starting line up even though a great footballer.

I am sure Tuchell will sort it out. Trippier on the left was awful for the team.

Trippier played on left as a filler but needs a left footer in front of him
or somebody super quick like Gordon.

And Trippier was already past his best by then

Slot used Trent v Newcastle as an impact sub, and it
worked well.

if you went with 6 starters and skelly is a supposed tutch fav, leaves only 2 maybe one attacking forward out of fodden,Palmer,Gordon,TAA, ezzie,Roger,s,rashford, maddison, grealish, bowen etc, etc, might hold a raffle every game for the shirt ,  maybe a fit James gets right back berth, another tutch fav, only a yr ago England fans/pundits demanding we build the team around PALMER and Southgate should be sacked for not starting him in the final

Palmer is indeed a talent but so are many others like Foden who has not impressed in an England shirt. Palmer has but how do you fit him in. Certainly an impact player as proven but starting? I am sure he could but for who? Unlikely imho but not to say he is not good enough. Nwaneri may also come into the equation. the balance is all important.

agreed but come world cups MSM bedwetting about 25 man squad etc but if tutch has decided on his CB,s and RB before world cup we can all name 9 starters so might as well take my NAN and Gran along for the ride,10 of them wont even get on pitch, the qualifying a week old and 90% of team set in stone
By:
Whisperingdeath
When: 26 Mar 25 18:04
Well it is all about tournament football. The younger players are used to it now from junior England. These qualifiers are not really a testing ground but Tuchell needs to work out his best 11 not his best 11 players.

I cant see us being as lucky again with the draw but I just want to see him build a team that wants to win and is not afraid and can play good football.

We keep getting lucky draws because there are not many good teams around.

Spain France, Argentina....

Can't be sure to avoid them but...

I cant believe what I am reading...

What part of Kane & Bellingham in the Euros give you any optimism that you can win a world cup?
Does no one else think that Cole Palmer has to be a shoo-in ahead of the petulant Madrid brat?
And Lewis Skelly...
.. Really?
He has played about 5 mins for the Ersenal and already mugged himself off on social media with his Haaland tribute. Not forgetting his thoroughly deserved red card.
Can you imagine him going up against the South Americans, the Portugeezers, Spanish or the French? If he survives the first half I will be amazed.
