And so we move onto our next Must Win game.
Fulham a good team having a very good season. We need three points tonight as next game is away to Palace who are also having a good season. Situation not helped with Ryan Christie now out for the remainder. Semenyo has lost his scoring boots, Klivert fatigued!, Huijsen and Kerkez probably eyeing up big summer moves. Kepa, really a marmite keeper. Games are running out, need these 3 points. Come on you Cherries. |

Nice to get the win, bit scrappy but a win is a win.
Onto Selhurst Park next, hopefully Palaces legs will be heavy after their trip to Newcastle midweek. |
|
By:
Played against 10 men whole of second half, credit Palace, but surely we should have managed one.
Just have to hope these European places go down to about tenth at this rate! |
|

There could be 10 teams in Europe next season if Manu/Spurs win EL, Palace win the FA Cup, Chelsea finish 7th and win the ECL. But I think it can only realistically go down to 8th in the league, which it will do if Palace don't win the FA Cup, in which case 8th goes into the ECL.

Thanks Clydebank29 very well explained. Here's hoping.

The race for European places resumes with Chelsea, Brighton and Fulham all having very winnable games.
Cherries are hosting Man Utd on Sunday. I would hope that a full strength Bournemouth, shall be to strong for what will probably be a mixture of Man Utd first teamers and reserves as Bilbao looms. Games are running out, need to win. |

In reply to my original question I would say---Probably Not.

With renewed enthusiasm after recent disappointments -- The run in.
Four games to go, minimum two victories needed, probably two and a draw. Arsenal (A), Villa (H), Man City (A), Leicester (H). Have to be targeting 3 points at Arsenal. Evanilson back after red card rescinded, so full strength Cherries line up. Lets do the double over The Gunners. |
|

If the FA Cup winners and Newcastle finish in the top seven, the Conference League playoff round place goes to eighth. Fulham (51) are eighth, followed by Brighton & Hove Albion (51), AFC Bournemouth (50), Brentford (49) and Palace (45), so there's every reason for these five clubs to play as though the season is still alive.

Heart sunk a bit when I saw the Arsenal line up, but we hung in there and played some good stuff second half.
Villa up next, should be a good one. Three to go. |

It's possible (but highly unlikely) that there could be 10 English clubs in europe next season. I presume there's also a possibility of 9. |

Villa at The Vitality massive game 5.30ko.
With Man City away next week I think we really need 3 points today, as I am sure Villa are thinking the same. Ouattara out, but we have a strong team with the added bonus of the 'Semenyo throw'. Come on the Cherries bring the points home. |
|
By:
Need to step it up second half, creating very little.

small club mentality, gave their all last week against a big team, lose at home to Villa the following week, it's what I call 'just beat a big team' syndrome, where small teams just can't follow up a big win. If they gave as much effort as they did against Arsenal 7 days ago against everyone they'd be top 5. A lot of players for clubs of the same size always up their level against a glamour club almost as if to get themselves in the shop window, you're at Bournemouth for a reason. Kind Regards.

Thank you Mes for your summing up.
If as you say we only raise our game against the big clubs, maybe we will go and beat Man City and then lose to Leicester. Anyhow dream is in tatters. Beats being in a relegation scrap tho. |

Cherries know what they have to do, 2 wins, nothing less.
I am sure Huijsen would love to finish his Cherries career with a win and keep Haaland quiet. Shame City also need the win, but quietly confident we can pull it off. |
|
By:
Ah well it was good while it lasted.
Should'nt be disappointed with a top 12 finish. If we had been offered that before a ball was kicked, would have bitten your hand off. Looks as if after the Leicester game we could see the breaking up of Andoni Iraola's team. Seemed to lose our way last couple of months. Hope we can beat Leicester to maybe squeeze into the top 10. |

I have been itching to bump this up for the last couple of weeks or so, daren't risk jinxing it. Absolutely fantastic feeling to have achieved a European spot. Only slight downer is Andoni moving on. But Hey "Up the Cherries".

Doing a Bloom and Benham without Bloom and Benham. Top stuff. Must have some very good people behind the scenes. Lose Kerkez Zabarbyi Semeneyo and Huijsen and then perform even better.

Outside chance of the CL too

Not only Andoni moving on but our 'Technical Director' Simon Francis who had massive input on replacing our former star names is also moving on. Hopefully we have a replacement lined up.
