The 2/9 should read 4/9 ( exchange price ) as the bookmakers take the original price to the lowest price possible to exacerbate the offer , so the comparison should be the best available price ANYWHERE vs the enhanced offer price , in this case Evens.
If you assess the offer that way you won't end up taking some of these ludicrous prices camouflaging as enhanced beauties when in reality they're barely an offer.
A good offer but not the enhancement as advertised in the modern world of 100% books.
Sorry for the intrusion but pressed the wrong forum tab and the bold headline caught my attention.

Anybody have an estimate how much was lost on this. It was placed 168k times by 11am. I'm guessing a tenner was around the average stake permitted. This is surely one of the most profitable specials ever offered.

Let’s say 200k by kick off then. £2m at an average of a tenner a pop. They keep all that. If I’d had landed, most would give it all straight back anyway! No lose!!

Doubt it was a trap. In form striker chasing a scoring record against injury ravaged opposition. Suggests they wanted this to win to give punters a boost. Football results been very bookmaker friendly lately with the City and Chelsea dips. If any journalist is reading this can you investigate how profitable these firms are to be offering a £2 million loss leader on a Saturday morning. Plus why is anyone with half a clue getting heavily restricted when so many others are obviously losing - hence a hard to believe offer like today's.

the odds were heavily in the backers favour for this bet, and everyone lost.what chance of winning long term with the odds always stacked against you ?

That's what struck me about the offer Tiger. No layer in their right mind would have layed that bet on here. If it was the opening day of the season or the Tuesday of Cheltenham fair enough. But you are willing to drop the guts of £2 million on a January Saturday on a boost that looks more like an effort to put funds into customers accounts. Just how much are punters losing if approximately 200k individual accounts were allowed on is what strikes me about this.

It does make you think, with all the involvement of gambling companies in football especially at the higher level, there’s feint smell of performing seals,or is it just me.

Before yesterday he’d had five PL games (out of nineteen) without a shot on target. Evens was a good boost, expected to win with his current form, but it didn’t happen. 365 are taking punt, but know loads will give it straight back anyway.

Point taken Kenbo - it wasn't a certainty but the fact they were willing to lay the bet to such volume is striking. A restricted customer wouldn't be allowed have 30 quid on the fav in the Gold Cup,yet how many here were allowed take Evens on at least a 1/2 shot. Can't see how this is fair. Michael Lewis of Moneyball/The Big Short fame seems to be on the case on this at least, doubt this forum will be changing 365's or anyone else's policy.

Funny old Game Who would think you can back 1/2 Man/Utd to Finish in the bottom half of the Premiership And 4/9 Tottenham the same again Scandalous What's happening to these 2 Great Clubs

As Kenbo says, they will have had a very good idea of how many of the people who could get on would carry on betting until their dosh was gone (likely more than just the initial tenner).

What percentage of the 200k customers who got on would be that type of punter do you reckon Latalomne. This is why the figures around the offer are so interesting - to me at least. Not much is known about the company given its status. The info gleaned from this seems to be that dropping at least £2 million on a mundane Saturday is no big deal, plus they've a lot of losing active customers/probably more problem gamblers than ever imagined.
