The event reportedly sold over 1.5 million pay-per-view buys, mostly in the UK, and this generated over $50 million. The event also made $40 million in advertising and $3 million gate at the arena. However, according to ESPN, the revenue failed to cover total expenses.[45] At least 20 million people watched the fight through piracy streams. Of those 20 million, approximately 45% were from the mainland Europe and 18% were from the UK. The financial loss from illegal streaming is estimated to be around $120 million.
LOL. Trilogy needed |

Neither of these two are greats imo, despite both being unbeaten before the last fight. There haven't been any great heavyweights for a long time. The fight obvs isn't big in the US either. There used to be some great US heavyweights but they don't seem to produce any greats at any weight any more. That's why HW boxing is in Saudi. They pay $75-80 for PPVs over there.

The last great heavyweight was Lennox Lewis.

In the US a big fight generates much more in revenue because of the PPV price over there and the size of the market, but the fighters get a lot more from the Saudis. The Saudis obvs aren't looking to make money on it. So maybe a trilogy isn't a shoe-in for financial reasons (for them).
But for the fighters and their promoters, it definitely is. Their last chance to milk the Saudis unless Fury wins and then they get another. Prob won't get a payday like this again after either. This time it's a reported $190m purse with a 55-45 split in Usyk's favour. |

Utter rubbish
But I'll watch out of morbid curiosity, nothing else to do with football on the thin side at this time because of end of South American season |

|
|
By:
Fury wins for me , there's no way they don't go the trilogy route
Even Usyk will be all for it |
|
By:
It's a gateway event for the Saudis so everybody is happy
... Doubtless they want more, but not if it's too boring, so may need to push a few new faces. |
|
By:
The Saudis will run out of money eventually , within 5 to 10 years
They'll go the same way China did with their big ideas No one wants to live there |
|
By:
World Cup 2034 and that'll be that
|
|
By:
Heavyweight boxing was just about biggest
sport on planet pre WW2 up to Tyson (ish) and then usa losing its dominance. Even the rocky films are moving down the weights!!! |
|
By:
I'll be backing Fury at 2.44. Seems generous.
