I've never played a competitive football match in my entire life but I'm pretty sure I'd at least get the penalty on target.

Mcmanaman telling us that RM haven't had a shot on target all match... just as they are showing a replay of their penalty...

Slippy, you must have played at school at least?
And if your only objective was to get it on target, then yes that's easy enough, but when you start going for the corners of the goal, and with pace, then that makes it harder, obviously

My school didn't play football Reg!

I was captain of the 1st IX at rugby and played hockey and cricket in the other terms.

I played rugby, in part because the rugby lads couldn't kick penalties...

I had to play rugby; our PE teacher was a big fan. We all wanted to play footy, but we had to equally share it between the two.

My PE teacher loved rugby as well,, said it was a tougher but respectful game

I hated it being a weedy guy

We had 2 footy games and rugby, I was sent from footy by evil pe teacher
who thought I'd get battered, but sadly it worked out to benefit of rugby team
who didn't have a goal kicker. The fact I knew the rules, or basics meant that
the team now had a captain to speak to referees too, lol.

Newcastle not really a hot bed for rugby back then, with many
comprehensive schools not having rugby teams.

OK slippy, my apologies
You jogged my memory about schools only playing rugby back in the day, in South East London and Kent area
There was one near me growing up which you might have played against who had a good reputation... Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School for Boys...?

A couple of the pupils there played in my Sunday football team

Reggie correct again of course
same as fans 300,000 grand a week cant beat defender on near post with a corner, they arnt trying to get it over him/in box etc their trying to get it over him by 6 inches at pace, same as goal scorers ,SHEARER worst for it MUST HIT THE TARGET no,must hit the target with aq chance of scoring any fool can hit the target which is the problem with shots on target stats/bets, the great goal scorers rush,Allen, daglish, lineker etc could feel where the corner s were without looking

'pool blew RM away last night but RM with Vinícius Júnior as an outlet are a whole different entity.

They also have Rodrygo, Tchouaméni, Carvajal & Alaba to come back
