You've got to assume the site will crash with minutes to go with potentially millions all hitting it at once, expert FPL Harry et al getting caught out isn't a good look.

Agreed, Arsenal are on the brink of of history with the game next week, no problem for a fantasy player starting one of their regulars for a free shot providing you have a starter ready and waiting on your bench but there is no realistic chance of an Arsenal regular being anywhere near starting today.

At a quick glance, this looks like very tight between Stew and Conor. Anyone totted up the automatic subs and bonus points? Good luck to you both. Could be a point or two in it.

I saw that VAR, was just offside. Seems like a lot of shrewdies were making late transfers once team news was either announced or leaked.

The most obvious multi team player , the lowest score possible is -2812 , the 2 lowest players have -2795 each , they are the same player with 2 teams , how sad is that , both teams messed up the same week and only did a -60 and both had 1 player somehow score 1 point so they didnt even manage the worst possible score even though it is very easy to do , just pick 15 players that are transfered out to other leagues etc and then just do 20 transfers each week .

Cheers guys, I benefitted from Stewpot missing deadline but if he'd had vice captained Bruno early he'd have still clinched 1st. Unlucky though.

Overall was surprised, didn't expect to make up the gap. It could have been any of the 4/5 leaders who clinched it, was very tight.

Separate to that Fanteam (for anyone that isn't aware of them) are doing £1 £10 and £100 games for the WC.  The rake is 16%.  There will prolly be sign up offers.  I've used them for a while (only for Eurovision, Euros and WC) and can vouch for them.  B365 use their software now and presume their customers go into the pot.  Sportsbook is pants but that's not why you'd use them.

I did come close in the the 2021 Euros.  My top team was about 10th out of 35,000 entries (top prize was £200k then and the prizes exceeded the take because then they trying to build interest) before the semi finals and had made the strategic move to pick Spanish and Danish players (which was right because nearly everyone else in the top 30 went Italy/England and no one else went Spain/Denmark)  It was so hard to know who to pick with Spain, whereas the other 3 teams you could virtually pick the line up.  Alas I dropped from 10th to 690th, but what might have been had the semis gone the other way.

England vs New Zealand, is this fantasy football? Geographically different, skill-wise different.

I can’t see the rules for the FIFA game. Can find how points are scored but not how many transfers are allowed during the tournament. I assume it’s a fixed number?

As far as I understand, via a google search as there seems to be no mention of it within the rules, extra time counts in this game, but obviously not the shootout, cannot find anything official on the site but will have to go with what is said externally unless anyone knows different. I just read the rules and there was no mention of extra time at all, unless I'm blind, only thing I did see was Penalty save (not including shootouts) 3+

that would indicate there is extra time contribution towards points, goals/assist/clean sheets or busted clean sheet potential, but still there is literally no mention of extra time in the rules.

Fanteam does not include extra time in their games.

Extra time is part of the game. Goals scored and conceded will get/lose points.

The Sun Dream Team always counted extra time.

they don't mention there's not in the FIFA rules, so I assume by default that means there is extra time anyway, and the mention of pens in shootouts not counting as well.

Yh I played Club World Cup FIFA last season. Extra time counts. So if 0 - 0 after 90 mins then clean sheet isnt locked yet until 120,  for example

Pretty decent effort so far to be in the top 7000 out of over 2 million entries.  And not too far clear of TM and MSM who both in the top 1.5%.  So still all to play for.

A few of you are doing very well. It took me a few rounds to realise the substitutions weren’t automatic. Kept wondering why my missing players weren’t replaced by my bench.

Substitutes are automatic but only if you have not made any changes during the live round manually or changed your captain.

Can you change your captain mid-game week?

Yeah, if Mbappe bombs tonight, you can just move the captain on to say Oyazabal tomorrow if you had him, if Mbappe had 4 pts, it'd mean you'd lose his captains pts (2pts) in that example so worth the risk. And if Oyazabal bombs, you can move the captaincy onto Kane on Saturday.

How stupid is it you're given 2 points for a player winning  a penalty, but no points deductions for missing a pen, only fantasy game I know where that is the case.

It is a bit Kenbo, requires you to be a very active player during the tournament, should only be allowed to pick 1 captain at the start with no in-play swapping of subs, but once you know the rules you have to play the ball rather than the man, so to speak.

Will have to go big or go home with the wildcard, apparently there's around 2.5 mil entries, top 100k for anyone will be a good achievement.
