It was only recently that I discovered my lifetime profit and loss on Betfair. I'm sure many of you already know where this is, but for those of you that haven't discovered it yet then follow these instructions...

From the Betfair Exchange page, click on the dropdown 'My Account' and then click on 'My Betfair Account'

Across the top you'll find another dropdown named 'Payments' where you should then click on 'Manage Payments Methods'

In the top right hand corner you will discover your balance. HTH.

i think it only goes back a year
i would love to see me P & L as it goes back almost 20 years

That only shows the balance of your current card or payment method. You need 'Betting Activity'> 'Premium Charges' for the entire picture.

Report tashkent terror April 11, 2024 3:58 PM BST
Agree with bettinghelp...you need the Premium Charge screen for the full picture since day 1.

The total net deposit figure under 'payments' doesn't match my PC figure (maybe this is linked to existing card)?
Report StewB April 11, 2024 3:58 PM BST
Thanks
Does it include all Sportsbook Bets ?
Report bettinghelp April 11, 2024 3:59 PM BST
It says, 'Exchange commission & charges' so I imagine not.

I think mine is quite accurate and not linked to the same card, which I've changed several times over the years. A few years back I asked for the figure and was sent a spreadsheet with every bet I'd ever made. I've since discarded that, but the figures do roughly agree with my own records.
Report Aspro April 11, 2024 4:05 PM BST
I'm not on PC so can't compare

yes, aspro is correct. It shows all deposits through the life of the account on the top right, not just the present card.

If the figure is negative it is profitable, if positive it is losing (assuming that your present balance doesn't cover the loss).

It will include them as it is just deposits minus withdrawals. Also presumably poker if anyone played that.
Report scandanavian_haven April 11, 2024 4:56 PM BST
is this new because I haven't seen that figure before ?
Report tobermory April 11, 2024 4:59 PM BST
Yes Aspro and Dave are correct.

The balance of deposits/withdrawals is for all cards used on the account.

It's not new, been like that a few years at least. Though not sure it was always there.

you don't get the premium charge page/link unless your charges/gross profit ratio is less than 50%. So if you have won 50k gross and paid 20k in charges, 30k profit, you won't get access to it.

Report dave1357 April 11, 2024 6:57 PM BST
I think you can ask them for it, but voluntarily contacting betfair CS isn't advisable for your wellbeing.

Report dave1357 April 12, 2024 9:25 PM BST
charges isn't actual commission, because of the way bf calcs them with implied 3% commish on losers plus actual comish divided by two.

So unless you were on 3% or less for a lot of the time the "charges" figure will always be less than you've paid in commish.

nowadays with 2% commish it will be the oposite.

btw I'd happily swap so that you knew this stuff and I had your gross profit.
Report duffy April 12, 2024 9:33 PM BST
The 252 is exchange money only,  I think the disparity is losses incurred from the other platforms, poker sportsbook etc, if you deposit and lose on the other platforms that is in that net deposit figure.
Report dave1357 April 12, 2024 10:15 PM BST
it might be, but more likely the difference between "charges" and actual commission.
Report werbie April 12, 2024 10:45 PM BST
Thanks Dave/Duffy
Commission could well be the factor. For the vast majority of my time on here I've been a backer so my commission rarely got below 3.8 nearer 4+ generally.
I don't get involved with poker or anything else on here and as far as sportsbook is concerned they won't lay me more than £2 so its a virtual no go area.
Report Winja April 13, 2024 9:35 AM BST
i am surprised sportsbook lay you anything......i was at ascot in a betfair box the day sportsbook was launched and barry orr was there who intervened when i was demonstrating that i could not have a bet on the sportsbook platform so barry who believed there was a technical issue telephoned head office only to be told that as i paid premium charge on the exchange i could not use sportsbook.....to say he was embarrassed in front of the other guests is an understatement but it turned out they were no different to the high street bookmakers who do not welcome punters who have a historical history of winning even though you could do your bollox in the future.......
Report werbie April 13, 2024 10:02 AM BST
Difficult to fathom how sportsbook make any money at all. Doubt they lay anyone a chunk until 5 mins before the offSurprised
Report dave1357 April 13, 2024 10:10 AM BST
to be cynical I think they just ride on the back of the exchange's rep of having the best price and scoop up punters who are completely ignorant about the difference or find a problem with the exchange and just bet on the sportsbook. And of course they want to offer sports/racing to casino punters in case they go elsewhere.
Report dave1357 April 13, 2024 10:13 AM BST
Flutter used to have the absolutely world leading peer to peer products in poker with pokerstars and the exchange. They have managed to devalue both.
Report Winja April 13, 2024 10:29 AM BST
at the time i wanted to use it for doubles...trebles and accumulators with my main business on the exchange but unfortunately they had other ideas....just tried again and its still £00.00 for any bet......even in the national...
