a lot depends on how keen Salah is to move in this window...no point keeping a player that wants out at that kind of price..

if he doesn't want to go or is indifferent at this moment then no move in all likelihood...if he likes the sound of it another 20m probably gets it done..L'pool still have decent options for the front line and probably weren't winning the PL this year..

Stadium air conditioned? Like in a glass/gold fish bowl? What about security? The entire stadium could be gassed, if so.

Maybe it's not such a bad thing after all. For one thing the ticket prices will be significantly cheaper given players remaining will be paid significantly less. Another positive is local lads will have a greater chance of playing too.

The Saudi's end game is a top class league, a place in the Champions League and hosting the World Cup.

I think this just pushes the super league back to the forefront. The super league would be a means to compete with the Saudi money and ensure European football remains at the top. It should be noted the Saudis cant really sustain this and just maybe they would be banking on a super league. Just like they did with the golf they would become major investors in the super league. That would be a good investment. Who knows, but money talks!!!

Why would the Saudi's 'end game' be the CL when they can just be in a breakaway Super League and not subject to UEFA or their FFP rules, which they will never be able to comply with? They are never going to have a 'top class league' either. There are 5 clubs out of 18 doing all the big spending and the living and playing conditions are unattractive.

Joining a super league or accepting a place in the Champions League would mean complying with some form of FFP.

The Saudi's are not going to agree to that until they have the players and infrastructure to compete.

At the moment with the heat and humidity the SPL is a retirement home. If they want a competitive league attracting younger players they need air conditioned stadia. Don't laugh it can be down. It's just a matter of cost and the Saudis literally have money to burn.

Only when they have a couple of clubs able to compete with City, Real, Barca etc will they join a super league or enter the Champions League. They ain't into weekly humiliation.
