Seems wrong that a World Cup final is settled on penalties, should have a rematch

Why do keepers not just stand still for penalties? They'll have less ground to cover. Also, it makes the takers take most of the risk!

The thing about standing up and not moving early is it increases the chances of the taker missing the target all together. Lloris was awful in that shootout. Pure Spurs. Absolute losing in their DNA. Imagine sacking a coach few days before a final so you don't have to give him a bigger payoff.

since the world cup went to 32 teams, is messi the only player to score in all knockout rounds?.........

How did Kane not score against Lloris? I'd forgotten what happened.

Ronaldo will 100% play on til the age of 41 now to have one last crack at winning a World Cup

A rematch is an anti-climax. A result must be delivered on the same evening/day.

How things have changed with replays now appear to be unthinkable in favour of a something that was supposed to be awarded for foul play. Might just as well toss a coin at the end of a game.

Bellingham odds on backers young player of the tournament, that's got to be the worst bet of the tournament.

What was the lowest odds? Odds on? Jesus wept. Odds for that type of award as part of a team knocked out in the QF

this argentinian team is as much a one man team as the 1986 team. messi obviously did not play near the level diego did in 1986 but seriously without him, they would be no where. the only guy who could make something happen........well i should add di maria for his fist half performance in the final.

Argi president was at home. He thought he'd be bad luck for his country had he watched the game in Doha.

They were routinely tested and their explanations were noted

Laughable to even consider Ronaldo in the same sentence as the likes of Maradona.

Maradona was just not normal.

That performance today reminded me of Dembeles unveiling at the Nou Camp when he was trying to do keepy uppies and was mocked by the Spanish media

An all time awful 40 mins of football from him.

Must be £ for £ the worst signing of all time. I'd say some PL clubs dodged a bullet in the summer

Camavinga and Comen turned the whole game. They should have ben on sooner and can hold their heads high

Deschamps deserves credit for the 2 double subs which changed the game & nearly won it.

Southgate would've sat on his hands.
