God Save the football weekend.

No chance

Phillip didn’t stop the football but the queen will

If they do play on as usual they won’t get away with the wall to wall coverage in my opinion

I think there's supposed to be 9 days of national mourning, maybe no football til after international break

I'm quite sure the queen wouldn't want people's lives to stop for 9 days.

9 days is excessive

Maybe the weekend of the funeral there’s no sport out of respect

All speculation at the moment; far better wait till an official announcement comes out

It's been planned for years, just read an article on it that in the event of the Queen dying there would be 9 days of national mourning, it is excessive

People make a living from these events, politics has dictated a culture of zero hour contracts, you don't work, you don't get paid now, considering the state of the economy we should be thinking of the living first and foremost. We can pay our respects in many ways, stopping people earning a living and grinding the country to a halt is not what we need right now.

not sure why its considered a sign of respect to cancel things - baffling Crazy

have a minutes silence / applause or something like that

people at home getting p5ssed instead considered more respectful

That’s right. The Queen would have loved seeing Liverpool get spanked again this weekend.

In 1952 10 days of mourning meant curtains closed and everyone sitting in the dark.

The world has moved on.

Elizabeth was 96 and had led a good life. We shouldn't be suprised or upset that she has died.

They'll be a state funeral, that is the day to show our respect.

literally  nobody wants postponements, fans, managers, players, sponsors, bookies, general public, so that means they'll postpone them. I don't see anywhere in the calendar where they can fit them in, especially if it's the following weeks game as well because of the funeral. They should respect that most people are not royalists. Their biggest fan groups are pensioners and tourists.

stu was too late to cancel people on flights and paid big money, i can see 2 weeks of no sports hopefully not but wouldn't be surprised

It's soon going to be less than 24Hrs before some big games kick off, not sure about Charles, but William is a big sports fan, hopefully talks some sense into the Government. We have had enough of the country being closed down and events cancelled. What better way to commemorate a passing of life than to celebrate life, sporting events are the antithesis of this.
