MVG almost hit back to back a few years ago, missed the double for 18 perfect darts

As an MVG fan, I remember that one well. And like the comms just said, also went on to lose the set! Just goes to show the incredible level darts has reached in the PDC.

Anderson probably his biggest worry on form?

Indeed, not a better chance to get to the final. But Wade seems to the only man who can win matches with rubbish averages!   Think this should be a step too far for him though.
I think either Anderson or Wright will give Smith a tough match, but the way Smith is banging in the 180's he should give himself plenty of chances at the doubles.

Shame Rydz didn't get there. The pace he and Anderson play at would have made it a cracker.

Two great games last night

If you back Smith at 1.38 you have to firmly believe he's on a huge upward curve as opposed to Wade not being the player he quite was........

Last 10 meeting between the two = 8 Wade  1 Smith  1 Tie , if you read anything in the head to heads.

He'll have to hit the same lofty heights for 3 matches on the bounce after the huge wins vs Jonny & Gerwen and that against an arguably fresher player that he's only beaten once in last 10 matches.

I'm also hoping Wright peaked last night, SS. Another 104 average performance would be tough to beat.

They are jonny its clear as day, its the wiring as well there so thin , its the reason the averages are so high although they havent messed with the outer board hence doubling is still tough under pressure

Agree it was very disappointing the way Smith dropped from that great position he had. Wtf happened!

Smith had great chance ,but Wright is an all time great ,so cant begrudge him only his second World Title.When you consider guys like Lewis and Part were ahead of him on 2.

There was signs of the old Smith last night when things weren’t going well. He still isn’t mentally strong.

Wright lost so many big matches, learned to lose in the end hence the no nerves

Smith wants it to bad whereas I dont think Wright ever beat himself up like that after losses
