Predict Newcastle's January signings

Eden Hazard

lol hadn't thought of him

Surely Real would be happy to get rid

Aaron Ramsey injury prone, past his best and on wages that way exceed his actual talent

the hazard fall was truly shocking, from the height of form at chelsea(sublime),what a player he was, great shame

Real and Barca may see Newcastle as their ticket out of poverty.

tobe, more cwazee money, can see it going t*** up if say just one big hitter turns them down or asks for silly money(and doesnt get it)or a few wives put their foot down about being so far away from the smoke,if youre a multi millionaire foreigner theres only one place you'd wanna be

sam allardyce

Dyballa, trippier, could get messy.

Dean Henderson.

Origi
Naitland-Miles
Daliot
Winks
Noble

Tarkowski, Trippier seem Howe type signings initially

Re Trippier, If AM are out of contention and Man Utd dont come sniffing, I could see him seeing a final payday at Newcastle.

Hazard, Coutinho, Lingard would be bad even as loan signings. These types can be toxic ina. dressing room when their careers are winding down and are the last thing the likes of Eddie need

Lingard in particular knows his contract at end of season is up so would hardly be risking injury with a final big payday around the corner if he did come on loan.

Wouldn't be a fan of Ter Stegen but a quality GK would be a great investment.

A left field signing would be someone like Steve Cook

harry Kane might see it as long term project, the top 4 don't seem keen

No Premiership clubs will sell/loan any player to Newcastle during the January window, they have well and truly spat their dummies out, with influence from the bent bods at the PL of course.

Money talks

It does, but we are only 3.5% of the total PIF investment in the UK and don't have as much money to spend as some are making out.

Dean Henderson.

Would be a decent signing potentially. Unreal Utd paying their backup keeper 100k a week

Tiger Tiger is spot on. I don't see them spending big at this point. Investment to majorly upgrade the training facility (even complete rebuild) and restructure football back office is a priority over wasting money on the Likes of Coutinho, Hazard, mercenary 3.

Being an investment fund, I don't see PSG like spending at any point.

Whatever position we strengthen in January it wont be a goalkeeper, why would it be? Dubravka is as good as any out there.

Coutinho, Bareth Gale, James Rodriguez, Paulinho and whichever other mercenaries are up for grabs.

Harry doesn't have time on his side. It'll take at least three or four years for this project to show glimpses of success. He'll be a total crock by that stage.

All of those are non starters.

Tiger, who do you want to sign?  Young players with potential?  or established players on loan looking for a massive pay cheque?

Its unclear what division we will be playing in next season, probably the Championship. Come January we will have a better insight. It will be difficult to sign any quality players with the threat of relegation hanging over us, could be that we have to see this season out with the current squad plus three average additions in January to help keep us up. Then the fun begins, still in the PL - we need a clear out - if in the Championship then keep the squad together to bring us back up. Its a difficult situation to which there is no easy remedy.

Why would they work to get promoted?

We need to decide who stays and who goes, and replace
the leavers with better players. Asap

We = Howe and Co.

no top players going to sign without a ridiculous premium or a far more difficult than usual release clause (as they'll be almost certainly be over payed to join)

best bet is a number of middling signings on inflated but short term contracts to keep them up and absorb that burden for the value of staying in the PL with a view to an offseason rebuild.

Winks and Alli are available if you want them.

i think they will have a bid at sterling

Agents don't care who fills their wallet.

Players will come if they are told.

even footballers squint at the league table yhtl...

I wouldn't mind Winks and think Howe might work well with him. Toon are desperately short in midfield

Anyone who thinks the new owners will line the pockets of overrated/past their best has-beens are in cloud cuckoo land. The initial investment will be modest by todays standards. This is a long term project, its a five year plan, Rome wasn't built in a day as they say.

Imagine Howe has a serious bounce and by January they are in better form and looking in a better position. Suddenly the urgency for recruitment is gone till the summer

That would be dreamland scenario

How many footballers going boycott joining Newcastle
Eddy didn’t want answer anything about who owners are

Footballers might squint, but they like the monets
their agents obtain for them.

They ain't being asked to sign up for life.

How about Pogba then?

i'd imagine they'd rather have diphtheria

that's the point though YHTL..who's going to risk a year in the Championship even on big money ?

a middling player for sure...a top ender at his peak ? ...really ?

obviously if Eddie gets them on even keel by the winter window all things are possible...

They won't be in the championship, they sign up for
Premier league and get a move if it goes t1ts up.

Double bubble for 15% of transfer fee.

Lots of transfers, gets turnover up too, win win.

It's about ambition too, not everybody is
good enough to walk into the top team.

Man utd still attracting top players, just about,
without winning trophies.

Cabaye, Ba, Ben arfa, sissoko, winaldum all joined
Newcastle in similar circumstances, amongst others

you don't get release clauses typically that mean you have to sub their wages back in a top league though..and if they have that in place motivation must start to be a factor too..

I hope it works for Newcastle genuinely as it almost certainly will long term...not sure why they weren't bought up before.. I'm just looking at short term issues

They can write whatever contract they like.

You hope to sign players who are motivated

That's for dof and manager.

As tiger says its a 5 year plan ( possibly longer)
If they go down then get promoted...

But hope to avoid going down

That's the view is it that it'll just be money no object ?

What do man United have to offer over say Chelsea,
Liverpool or City?

Nothing, but folk want to give it a shot

They want to help put man utd back above those 3

Money is an object though, and they need to
buy well, sell well, and trade well.

Buying for future,... Look at chelsea

What do man United have to offer over say Chelsea,
Liverpool or City?

Nothing I'd imagine
think most probably looked at wages and CL football plus being courted by said club

Lots of them signed up with little hope
of champions league, or came through
from youth system, fantastic club loyalty.

Newcastle can't buy that, but can hope one day
to have built it.

Club has been a shambles from kids up for decades

That's got to massively improve

well City are the only ones who could really point at young player development with any pride..thought you meant players who had joined in general..
Utd especially has been a dreadful advert of in house development post the obvious class of '92

I did mean players they had signed, but you can't ignore
the man utd youth development which has been brilliant.

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/jugendarbeit/verein/985

..

name the world class players United have developed post the '92 brigade yhtl ?

Pogba, rashford, lingard, greenwood...

Must be more,...

well 3 of them aren't world class and the other was developed by Juve essentially because he wasn't playing first XI football with any regularity before regressing back at Utd..

Well if they ain't world class then you better define world
class, because they are clearly good enough to be champions
league players.

Brandon Williams played CL.. shall we include him ?

Is he good enough to be a champions league regular?

How high a bar are you trying to set?

feels a curious argument to me, United used to get the pick of young talent and invested in facilities to develop those talents...yet have very little top end stuff to point to that has come throught that system...

Newcastle fans would welcome lingard with open arms
same as they did willock, who clearly has potential
but wouldn't have made it under Bruce

It's exactly the point of the argument.

Newcastle have to work to get to that point
because they are not anywhere near it.

Buying in talent has to step up to that level,
as tiger says Rome wasn't built in a day

Not only do Newcastle need first team players, they need reserves
under 23s,u21s,and kids

It's a huge job

think we must be slightly offset in our debate yhtl tbh.

Nobody wanted to come for years, tales of bullying
and racism, and couldn't care less

It's the bigger picture Brentford, and the monets need
to do it all,... Plus what we already have, of course.

Well, genuinely I wish it all well and am pretty sure it has a positive outcome..

It's already positive, now we are another
club trying to get better.

Seriously it's a massive improvement on whats
been going on.

what's the betting they end up with a useless bunch of grand-standing, arm-waving dossers (a la alexis sanchez/pogba) who don't want to put in the work or take responsibility? And end up with almost as bad a team, with 50 times the wage bill?

Don't think Howe will be looking for a marquee type signing in Jan. Lower-key fast, energetic, younger players maybe some attacking full backs. He'll probably go for a number of players rather than a big name or two.
