If they can mark Modric out of the game, they could have a chance. I think it will be a draw, though. 1-1 seems a likely score. Both teams will be confident of beating Scotland and the Czechs.

We'll probably end the first half playing catch up after Croatia take advantage of our inability to gel the team via the warm-up games. Stupid decision imo.

Not sure england would win this game 6 times out of 10 tobes, good luck if you think that is possible. Who will be best player on the pitch, Modric. Who will the 2nd best player on the pitch Perisic and even Lovren is better than any english centre back for all his faults. England dont have any world class players, Kane on going day can look it. |

Almost agree, but do England have better players to make them win this game more than 7 times out of 10, i dont think so. Even my weak history shows that.

Modric has been a great player
but he's waning. Grealish on the up has shone in an average team against some very good teams in Premier league. We'll find out, in time, how good grealish becomes,... He might not even start v Croatia. |

but they do have the same manager and 6 of the 10 outfield players who beat England in 2018 Lovren, Rakitic and Mandzukic big misses though and Modric 2 years older |

There's nothing to worry about, England should be winning by a goal or 2, it's Portugal or France in round 2 that is the concern.

I admire Grealish; he has heart and balls, but as I've mentioned several times before, he also has a tendency to lose possession. Personally I'd say fk-it and throw caution to the wind, but Southgate is like all those before him. Redknapp would make someone like Grealish a banker starter, but Southgate is a wuss and whilst we continue to employ cautious managers we will win fk-all, which has been proven over and over again.
